Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel Review

Actually, I've been eye-ing this product for quite some time ever since I tried the sample but didn't buy it due to the price. Then I found it for RM 69 only on Hermo! Not only does the pink tube look cute, the product actually smells AMAZING! I find it such a joy to use because of that xD

Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel

It's from Korea so the wordings are not in English.

The small nozzle makes it easy to control the amount I use.

Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel cap

Firstly, I need to say that this is not the kind of peeling gel where you use it on dry skin and when you massage it, balls of your dead skin appear. In fact, you're supposed to use the Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel on damp skin. It's a gentle scrub with tiny beads inside. Even though they're tiny, the gel is very dense with beads so it's effective. The beads do not dissolve so you have to control yourself. I know it smells nice but don't over exfoliate your skin! xP

Using Laneige Multiberry Yogurt Peeling Gel

After washing the peeling gel off, you will find smoother, cleaner skin. It doesn't make my skin dry, peel or sensitive. I use it about every other day. If I had makeup up, I will use facial wash first to remove the makeup remover.

Clinique Derma White City Block Anti Pollution SPF 40

It's nice to be out in the sun sometimes (provided it's not hot until I melt) with a soft breeze.

That's until.. I realize that the sun is burning my skin! Some people say I'm like a candle that melts under the sun =/ Not only that.. As we stay in the city, the air is so polluted and full of bad stuff that settles on our skin every single day.

Then Clinique gifted me with a tube of their Clinique Derma White City Block Anti Pollution SPF 40.

So according to Clinique, air pollution is related to dark spots! How scary is that? It's not enough that you hide from the sun. It's in the aiirrr!! This product acts as a filter to prevent pollutants in our environment from affecting our skin.

Product says : Derma White City Block Anti-Pollution SPF 40 provides broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and prevents dark spots and discolourations with SPF 40/PA +++ protection. It protects skin's immunity with updated IPF technology and provides improved makeup priming benefits.

One thing that annoys me is the shiny cap is a fingerprint magnet! Plus the shape of the tube means it can't really stand (topples over all the time).

The sunblock is like a dense skin-toned gel-cream.

This amount is sufficient for half of my face.

(excuse the no makeup face) As you can see, it spreads really well despite it's thick outlook. I just dot some on my nose, chin, forehead and cheek then blend. It dries quite fast so be quick! Once it's dry, there is no stickiness, shine, weird layer or white cast at all.

Do you notice a slightly better looking me on the right? Somehow it makes my skin look better by brightening it.

Very very subtle difference but still there. Right side is after using sunblock. It reduces the redness and evens out my skin tone a bit while giving it a slight glow.

Overall, this is a sunblock I'm comfortable using. Doesn't dry me out nor make my skin look like an oil slick.

Kanebo Blanchir Superior White Deep Milky Conditioner

I've only used drugstore brands before this but soon I discovered that I couldn't find a cheap moisturizer that suits my skin so I got this at over RM 100. Can't recall the exact price.

This range focuses on whitening and moisturizing. You can read more on this product HERE.

Product says : Retains the moisture-maintaining abilities of stratum corneum, to bring out brighter, clearer skin. Cosmeceutical brightening and moisturizing emulsion.

The bottle is a rich red mixed with white and silver. Feels pretty luxurious. Silver cap attracts fingerprints like mad!

Since the milky conditioner is pretty watery, the big dispenser hole is highly inappropriate. Can get messy and it's hard to control the amount.

About 2cm diameter of product is recommended. This amount is enough for my face.

This is the way to apply and massage your face with the milky conditioner.

It spreads very efficiently leaving a dewy trail. Continue blending until it is fully absorbed.

One thing I love about this milky conditioner is that it does not leave behind any shine, stickiness or make me oil up faster. My skin is powdery smooth, supple and hydrated. Just what I'm looking for! It also smells lovely~ You can give this a try if you feel that your current moisturizer is too oily yet doesn't penetrate deep into your skin to moisturize the inner layers.

I use this after the Clear Conditioner (lotion) for Double Moisturizing. According to Kanebo, thoroughly moisturizing skin prevents foreign objects (such as microbes and germs) from entering and protects the skin from external stimulation (such as UV rays), supporting the skin barrier functions.

Pasta Zanmai & Snowflake, Paradigm Mall

Third food post in a row dafug.. This time we headed to Paradigm Mall aka Magic Mall.

Lunch at Pasta Zanmai again. I ate here previously with my sister. I don't recall the exact name and price but it's below RM 20. It's a chicken teriyaki set with miso soup and salad. The rice is the short and fat kind (Japanese) so yum! Chicken teriyaki was very well cooked, with abundant taste while the meat was still juicy and tender. Miso soup's full of taste but there wasn't much inside, just soup. Salad was very good with the sauce and sesame seeds. I managed to finish everything except for the rice.

Saw Snowflake and I had to satisfy my craving for their taro balls!! Wasn't such a good idea after all since Paradigm Mall was REALLY cold. Dived for their bestseller immediately. Chewy taro balls on a blanket of grass jelly over sweet cincau ice. You can choose to mix them or have them individually to enjoy their original taste. Strangely, I didn't notice the cincau ice before this. Previously, I recall that it was just plain ice at the Kota Damansara branch. This cincau ice is soooo much better! The taro balls were full of yam taste too with the right amount of 'bounce'. The grass jelly added some sweet and cool flavour as well.

Us! Snowflake again next time you come back, Jingyi!

Face to Face Noodle House, Taylor's Lakeside

Face to Face Noodle House is one of the hot spots for Taylor's students. During lunch time, it is always packed and you might have to wait 20 numbers before it is your turn.

They have various types of pan mee here. Dry or soup.. Spicy or non-spicy.. You're given a choice between fat noodle or thin noodle too. The one in the photo is fat. The egg is supposed to be runny but recently, it's always overcooked =( Thankfully, the noodle isn't dry so you don't have to rely on the egg. This is the spicy version which comes with a reddish chilli oil. Quite spicy for a chilli-noob like me but I still finished it. You may order the non spicy version and just add your own condiments provided on a table. The chilli flakes here aren't very spicy but they add taste.

They practice self service here as you have to line up to order yourself then wait for your number to appear on the screen. When it's your turn, you redeem your food or drinks from the window. Food costs below RM 10 so it's pretty affordable for students. Portion is generous too.

Meng Kee Steam Soup

I consider this place to have affordable and good food. It's no fancy restaurant but I love the soup here! Customers sit under the roof, outside or on the walkway of the shop lots across. It's not hot there and the workers are great.

This is my favourite order there! Corn soup! It's really sweet and doesn't contain MSG. I've also tried other soups and they're all awesome. Rich soup with generous amounts of meat/carrot/whatever that soup contains. They also have specialty soups which you have to order in advance. I'm talking about pig's brain soup wtf.. I think there was one with deer horn (antler?) I have not tried those though..

We usually have soup to accompany rice and some dishes. I have not been disappointed by their food so far. The meat is cooked til soft yet not overcooked until dry. Lots of sauce to add taste and it's accompanied by salted vegetables.

Do come early as some of the soups sell out fast!

Discomfort When Wearing Contact Lens?

If you've been wearing contact lenses for a long time, you've probably encountered eye discomfort at least once. It could be a burning sensation or feels like there is sand in your eye. You'll probably get a red eye too if you insist on wearing it.

For show only, not connected to contact lens

1) Basic rule - make sure your lenses are the right way up! Hold your lenses up and view it from the side. If it's correct, it should look like the left one and sits perfectly on your finger. The incorrect one tends to be unstable due to it's sharper base.

Source

2) Always soak lenses in multipurpose solution overnight before wearing for the first time. No matter the brand, I always soak my new lenses or else they'll burn my eyes!

3) If you feel discomfort, remove immediately and rinse. If still there, rub with solution and re-soak.

4) Do not keep contact lenses for too long. I usually keep mine up to 3 months because that's when they feel different. They feel harder, dry faster or aren't as comfortable any more. This applies for yearly lenses as well.

5) If all of the above fail and they're a new pair, do provide feedback to the seller. Some companies like MagicColour have awesome service. After wearing numerous pairs from their brand without any problems, there was a pair that could not be worn at all despite my efforts. They immediately offered to send me a new pair. Thank you!

You can read more tips regarding contact lenses on the MagicColour website.

Essential Nuance Airy Conditioner

After using the Essential Nuance Airy shampoo, I follow up with the conditioner.

The bottle is slightly darker than the shampoo bottle. Although similar, you can differentiate them by the pop ups on the side of the shampoo bottle.

Product says :

Conditioner is a thick white cream that's easy to spread on hair.

I always use hair mask/treatment after conditioner but some people stop there. It is definitely not enough for me although it does help to make my hair softer and smoother. Perhaps it'll be alright for someone who has really good hair.

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

I was told to get an anti dandruff shampoo by the stylist at the salon so I dropped by Watson's and casually grabbed one.

This Schwarzkopf Extra Care Anti-Dandruff Shampoo is supposed to fight dandruff while repairing my hair. My main concern about anti-dandruff shampoo is that they will dry out my already horrendous hair so this sounded promising.

'With liquid keratin' hmm.. Not sure what I think of that but as long as it works, right?

Product says :

It lathers fairly easily and smells alright. Compared to some other shampoos, this isn't as harsh on my hair.  My scalp is definitely less itchy and oily now but the difference isn't major. Still have dandruff (or rather buildup on my scalp since they don't 'fly' out). Then another stylist told me that it's not dandruff but rather my sensitive scalp trying to protect itself. So.. I should NOT be using dandruff shampoo? =/

Size : 175 ml
Price : RM 12.90
Bought from : Watson's

For the Food Lovers

I somehow stumbled upon this website, OpenRice some time back. Practically spammed them to join the ongoing event at that time lol FYI, 'hoi fan' is Cantonese for start eating and the direct translation is 'open rice'.

Anyway, now there's another event going on, the Super Rewards! How is it like?

Step 1 : EAT! Yes.. Just have a meal anywhere in Klang Valley, Penang, Kedah, Malacca, Perak or in the East Coast & take photos of your food.

Step 2 : Post reviews on OpenRice and be rewarded with Super Points. Amount of points depends on your review. Editor's Choice reviews garner 30 SP, you get 20 SP if you're the first to review that restaurant and normal reviews earn 10 SP.

Step 3 : Redeem prizes with your accumulated Super Points! The top prizes include iPads and PSP but there are also smaller ones for those who aim small.

You can read more about it on their Rewards page HERE.
* Ends 24th October 2012

You have an advantage if you have a habit of taking food photos with Instagram and tagging the location xD So useful! Here's to all those people making fun of people who take food pics!

Then my review on Sakae Sushi got featured as Editor's Choice review of the week. Dafug.. Photos taken with S2 so they weren't looking for photo quality lol

My review on The Manhattan Fish Market also got picked. Now I feel bad that they're both bad reviews. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is.. If even mine can get picked, so can yours! Grab those 30 Super Points for yourself now! xD

How to be Mr Perfect 101

Have you seen this video by Felixia Yeap floating through Facebook? I gotta admit, her boobs what she said really caught my attention.

I used to chat actively in a forum where all the guys there judge every single female who pops up. 'Airport', 'fugly face' and 'fat' were commonly thrown at them. Then when we met up for group gatherings, I actually found out that those men who said the worst things actually looked the worst!

Enough of you guys judging us! Do you fulfill OUR criteria instead? These are the DOs and DON'Ts from my view.

DON'Ts

1) DO NOT go on a diet that makes us feel fat eating next to you. We never want to feel fat or ugly when we're with you. As far as I'm concerned, I'm the prettiest princess with my bf. I love to eat so it really turns me off when I'm the only one eating or if I eat more than the guy. However, I understand if you're trying to get fit by eating the right food and working out.

2) DO NOT compare me with another girl, especially if she's prettier. Even if you're using her as an example to tell me how I look better, you're still giving me the vibe that you see me as an object on a shelf which you purchased simply because I looked better than the lamp next to me. Yes, you bought me. But I'm still a lamp.

3) DO NOT ask me to get rid of the cockroach for you. Just like Felixia, I had a similar experience where a buffed guy and I encountered a baby cockroach and he actually asked me to 'settle' the roach as he's afraid of it. It happened again on another occasion with a tiny green caterpillar-like fella about an inch big. #truestory

4) DO NOT ask me to look/dress better if you look like a homeless man. Ticks me off when guys are constantly so demanding when they themselves do not pass their own standards. Urgh.. Improve yourself and you will automatically get better girls! Simple logic.

5) DO NOT bug my friends if you're an insurance agent or similar. This might sound ridiculous but I won't date men whose work involves selling insurance, MLM or any sort of aggressive recruitment. Simply because I don't want him to bug me or my friends.

"Eh eh.. Your mom want to buy insurance anot? What about your dad, grandmother, grandfather, aunty, uncle, neighbour, dog, hamster..." NONONONONO!

6) DO NOT make our arguments public. There was a guy.. who would openly discuss about our arguments on previously mentioned forum and people who actually knew us would come up to me and ask "what happen to you and _____?" Do you know how embarrassing that is?!

DOs

1) I'm the prettiest princess. Remember that.

2) Cuddles. Lots of it. I cannot even express how much I love men who cuddle me. It's also the cure for PMS.

3) Listen. Or at least pretend that you do BUT make sure we don't find out or you will share the fate of a marshmallow over a fire.

4) Look smart, be smart. Try to look presentable especially when we're going somewhere nice. I like to makeup and look good but it doesn't work if you're wearing a white singlet and torn shorts with messy hair. Also, be knowledgeable. Girls don't dig guys who only know all the tactics to winning Dota. Don't ask me why my saliva isn't sweet cos all girls' saliva are supposed to be sweet. This is unfortunately also a #truestory.

5) Love me in public places. Alright, this is pretty subjective since many people don't like PDA. And I don't mean a tongue wrestle in the open alright. I like the occasional kiss, hugs, holding hands, cuddling during movies (cuddles!) or sharing an ice cream with you.

I also like men who are brave, protective (not OVERLY protective) and warm. Yes, if you have a hot body like Jacob you pass (I'm talking about temperature okay). Very useful in cinemas.

Guys - I hope you learned something from this short course on How to be Mr Perfect 101.
Girls - Is there something you want to add?
