Aster Spring Facial @ 1 Utama

My first facial ever, thanks to Nicole~~ There seems to be a lot of firsts with Nicole @_@ I got the chance to experience a Balancing Facial Treatment worth RM 198.

The entrance to heaven~~

At the 'reception area', I was asked a number of questions about my body and my skin. The lady labelled me as underweight and one of the questions was "Do you binge eat?". I answered her "I don't call it binge eating but sometimes I do snack a lot" then she proceeded to tick binge eating. WTH?!! =_=

After more questions, we started off with a hydration test. My cheeks were 55% (quite bad since supposed to be 100%) while my forehead was 44%!! Which confirmed my suspicion that my skin is indeed dehydrated, causing it to overproduce oil. Argh!!

She had also asked if I'm claustrophobic, which lead me to wonder how small the room was. Thankfully.. It's not that bad. There's a comfy bed, covers, relaxing music and adjustable lighting.

Change into the robe provided and you're ready! (actually this was taken after the facial lmao)

I can't remember all the processes but there was cleansing 1, cleansing 2, scrub, steaming, softener, extraction (I ticked for low pain tolerance but this hurt like hell!), antiseptic, face & neck massage, hydrating mist, cold massage, gel mask, gauze / something over it, cold mask (dam relaxing) and shoulder massage. The whole session lasted about 1 hour and 15 minutes. So so so... Relaxing x_X During the mask application, I wasn't sure if I was awake or asleep. I was kinda 'in between' cos it was so comfy plus my eyes were covered. Angela did a wonderful job ^_^ I was told that the extraction hurt bad cos my skin is dehydrated and it's hard to extract. If I plan to go for extraction again, I should use a hydrating mask 3 days in a row prior to it.

Lady outside claimed my face will not be too red and I won't get pimples like what I usually get after squeezing my own clogged pores. "Oh.. That's because you used the wrong method"

WHAT?! My face was red (ok not TOO red) and I had to work after that (already informed her earlier)! Then I got all these painful pimples all over my face and my face looks like shit until even my mum asked what happened =_= The gentle soothing booster thingy she gave me didn't really help either. However, my face was so much smoother with less clogged pores. Face was also more hydrated but it looked really oily and I had to blot a few times that night.

Also, I look so tired because the facial was so relaxing and I was dragging my feet home to sleep x_x Apparently, naps after facials are good. In fact, I was expected to fall asleep during the facial.

That evening itself, make up went on smooth and there was a glow (which turned oily later on).
Some of the other treatments available there. There's like a whole book of them so if you're interested, I would suggest you head there and ask for advise.

This really caught my attention though..

Ooo... But so pricey lol! I guess that's the price of beauty, huh?

  1. ouch! the extraction sounds vry painful. ive never really done facial elsewhere apart from my regular place, which extraction are pain-free. but im keen on tryin elsewhere provided only if the extraction are painfree. zero tolerance for pain. hehe

  2. When I went to get my facial I thought a lot about the extractions. Apparently they're REALLY hotly debated! Some beauty techs say they are more harmful long term and others say they are helpful. Dermatologists tend to dislike them as a general rule. I decided not to go with them and I still had lots of redness. I hope your skin heals well and that the facial turns out to be beneficial! Remember that your skin will usually get a little worse after a facial before it gets better.

  3. @ Kathlynn
I want pain free extraction too T_T It was so painful, I was cringing under the covers.

    @ Eden
Well, sometimes extraction is needed to remove the really stubborn ones. I think to truly benefit from facials, you gotta go back often. Not gonna get long term results from one visit lol Well, the painful pimples are gone but scars remain =(

  4. I wouldn't know what to choose.. there's too much options.. 0_0.. Lol, I can never be calm when somebody else is touching my face. Went for the free facial session at Watsons last wednesday and I can barely kept still. Everybody else was either closing their eyes (pretending to be sleeping), or really really sleeping for real, but I kept on opening my eyes, adjusting my head, looking at other people, shut my eyes again (involuntarily) then open it up again to repeat the same process..lol..

  5. Aster Spring finally! Hahaha... I was there for my graduation makeover 3 years back and I was really, really satisfied with the makeover.

Did you get to try out their makeup line? I remember I told my brother how good their foundation was - it really smoothed out my pores and fine lines! Darn, no joke! It was worth it at RM68 and best of all, my brother sponsored the make over as my graduation present! You should try out their foundation!

  7. You should only start to scare when the extraction they do for you is really pain-free.. There will never have any pain-free extraction unless your beautician did not do it conscientious for you.. No matter how there will be at least a little pain for that.. But if the extraction they do for you are really over pain you can just ask them to stop doing it.. Because that might possible their skill problem unless you're the one who really can't stand for pain at all..

  8. I think if it's pain-free, it means the beautician is not even doing anything lol I didn't say anything as I wanted those stubborn buggers to get out but Im pretty sure it showed on my face. Plus, it was my first extraction so I didn't know if the pain was considered minimal. The one at Cres Wellness was much easier to bare though

  9. Hello,
I've been a regular customer of ur salon for many years in Msia and Singapore. I visited LD in Singapore every fortnightly for maintenance when I was working there for 2 years.
I came back to KL since last year April. I was pregnant at that time, and due to my pregnancy, my face broken out terribly....So, I go to get facial treatment from Aster Spring in MidValley branch. After my 1st treatment, I met the branch manager there. She wanted to hard sell me a course of treatment package, but I didnt sign up, her face immediately turned black.
2 weeks after, I went back to get facial treatment at the same salon. The manager handled my facial. During the facial, she promoted the course to me again and quite pushy to get me sign up. But I told her I'm not interested and right after that, she said something very sarcastic on me. I'm a bit piss off at that instant. Then when it's time to do extraction, it was a painful session!!! I've been regular for facial so I know she has did a bad n painful extraction on me. I asked her to stop, again she said something sarcastically! Whay a b**ch! Can u all imagine I was PREGNANT n she did a really harsh extraction on me?! She really made me feel that she did that purposely!
I used to like LD but not AsterSpring! Not going to visit them again especially MidValley branch.

  12. Wow.. I'm glad I didn't encounter staff like that. Maybe you should bring this matter to them? I'm not from LD nor Aster Spring. I myself am a customer, sharing my experience at their outlet.
