COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (RM34/150ml)

If you have dry skin like me, it's better to use a gentle cleanser to avoid stripping your face of its natural oils. After all, a cleanser's job is to clean your skin prepping it for the skincare to follow.

It has a very fresh tea tree scent which is great for mornings although I'm not sure why it's specifically for mornings? I use this twice a day without a problem since I double cleanse in the evening anyway.

I was pleasantly surprised that despite having a gel texture, the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser lathers up very well! There is no 'film' texture after, and my face feels soft and supple after. I have no complaints. Definitely a good try for dry and sensitive skin at just RM34 a tube.

Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution (RM13/pc)

Facial masks are great for a quick pick-me-up or just as weekly maintenance. Especially after an exfoliating routine, I like to soothe my skin with a hydrating mask like this Dr. Jart+ Vital Hydra Solution mask.

"It contains aquaxyl and xylitol to enhance moisture retention and strengthen the skin's barrier by preventing water loss. Oligo-hyaluronic acid and algae extract supports long-lasting moisturization and supports natural collagen synthesis to keep your skin looking and feeling hydrated and completely refreshed."

The sheet itself is made with fine cellulose fibre which assists the active ingredients to penetrate deeper into skin. It's very comfortable to use as it's really thin and soft, fitting my face very well. The serum is not very thick so I feel comfortable just massaging it in without needing to rinse. It also has a very nice scent which I guess smells kinda fruity, berry-ly?

COSRX Acne Pimple Master ADF Hydrocolloid Dressing (RM13.50/24pcs)

You've probably heard of the wonders of hydrocolloid patches for acne by now but have you tried them? It's supposed to suck out all the gunk from our pimple and seal it off from bacteria. You can stick one on for up to 24 hours and watch your pimple become flatter and less red!

Thank you Threebs for sending the COSRX Acne Pimple Master ADF Hydrocolloid Dressing but unfortunately I do not have any pimples to test them on?  I was however pretty amazed that the pack contained 3 patch sizes! Choose between 7mm, 10mm or 12mm based on how big your pimple is.

Does not come with a tweezer so had to borrow from another brand. I prefer using tweezers as it's cleaner and much easier to apply. You can definitely wear these out because they're so thin and natural! Can you spot it beside my finger??

EMBRYOLISSE Micellar Lotion

The first step in skincare is always cleansing, and I deem it as one of the most important because if you don't remove all the makeup and dirt, any skincare you apply after will be ineffective. I've always been a fan of micellar water so this was no surprise. It removes makeup in a breeze but is still gentle on skin. Did not irritate my eyes at all and skin felt great after. Would definitely recommend.

Makeup gone in just 1-2 swipes! No sticky residue either.

EMBRYOLISSE Radiant Eye Stick

Now, I'm not a fan of separate eye products as they normally feel exactly the same as the regular moisturiser?! However, the same cannot be said about this. It's slightly cooling to freshen up your eyes in the morning as it works to target dark circles and puffiness. After applying, give your eye a little lifting massage until product absorbs completely. Unlike many eye creams, it is not oily and did not give me oil seeds.

EMBRYOLISSE Lait-Crème Concentre Moisturizer

Ah, the star product used by beauty professionals and makeup artists of the stars. With its blend of ingredients from natural origin rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins, it provides ample moisture and primes skin for makeup.

I was a bit apprehensive at first seeing how creamy it looked but surprisingly the formula absorbed well. As it dries to a satin finish, it does not cause makeup to melt or slide around.

The only con? I'm not a fan of the twist cap and hard tube that reminds me of UHU glue. Remember how we would squeeze too much and couldn't stop it from overflowing? I also don't see myself traveling with this tube.

Hydration is the main thing I look for in most skincare as I spend most of my time in an air-conditioned room. Ample hydration will also help your skin remain youthful and bright. I was sent this range from Beleza by Vasayo recently. Read on to find out how it performs on my dry skin!

Beléza by Vasayo Liposomal Serum

After a good cleansing routine and toner, apply the Beléza by Vasayo Liposomal Serum all over your face and neck. It is a multipurpose serum that can be used day & night to reinforce skin-cell cohesion & protective barrier, as well as help maintain the firmness of healthy skin. Don't forget to apply it on your under eyes! The product claims to reduce the signs of eye ageing with clinical validation after 30 days.

Well, I've used it for a month now. I don't think I see any noticeable difference under my eyes BUT I don't have much issues there anyway apart from my chronic dark circles which probably need sleep more than skincare 😰 However, I do like this all-in-1 product as I'm normally too lazy to apply a separate eye cream and this one doesn't give me oil seeds.

Beleza by Vasayo Liposomal Rejuvenating Cream

It comes with this type of pump dispenser so it's kept clean at all times. You don't have to dip your finger inside nor find for a clean spoon. Just press and you're ready to apply!

Beleza by Vasayo Liposomal Hydrating Mist

For this brand, the mist is the last step but I admit I just use it whenever my skin feels dry. A few spritzes immediately make my skin feel more comfortable and the fragrance kinda helps me destress.

I don't see why you shouldn't apply this throughout the day at work too since it uses a proprietary blend containing pollushield™ to triple protect your skin against pollution, blue-light exposure from your digital devices, and extreme environments!

Final review on Beleza by Vasayo range?

You know some skincare just float on the surface so you may feel oily on the surface but still tight inside? The Beleza range works well for my dehydrated skin as the liposomal technology is able to deliver nutrients and active ingredients to the deeper layers of the skin.

I do recommend this range as it has changed my skin in a month - from dry and irritated to moist and plump! With this, fine lines are less visible and my skin definitely has a smoother appearance.

It's a slightly viscous liquid that feels slippery. I was rather concerned at first because this amount of such a thick liquid could not possibly absorb into my face, right? Wrong! I use the slippery opportunity for a little facial massage and it absorbed so well! No problem topping up with a moisturiser as well.

Personally, I was surprised how an anti-aging product isn't too heavy or oily for me as that is usually the case. I wouldn't mind using this except it costs about RM250 for 21 capsules which is rather steep for me.

Royal Valens LetItGo, Fitunix & Qinova 14 Days Plan Review

A while back I joined a 2-week detox programme with Dr Esence using a combination of 3 products. I learnt that a healthy body starts from a healthy digestive system. This makes sense as all the goodness we put into our body will be useless if our body cannot digest it properly right? This programme aims to improve 3 key points: Detox, metabolism, and immunity.

Results after 2 weeks

I prefer to rely on what I see/feel instead of weight. Overall my whole body was slimmer and less bloated. The most apparent part was my tummy, followed by a sharper face. Ah yeah, you might say "eh she just went to toilet lah.." and.. YES YOU ARE RIGHT! The Royal Valens LetItGo product helps you to go toilet and detoxifies your body. It is not a meal replacement nor extreme diet product. I would consider it something like a supplement - it improves how your body functions.

Diet

During the first week, I still became slimmer even though I ate normally with rice and all. 2nd week, I followed it with lots of salads about 5-7 times a week. I love salads so I replace lunch, dinner or supper with them. This combination works for me and I do like how my body feels running on fresh greens.

For me, the star of this programme is definitely Royal Valens LetItgo. It contains a whopping 14 different types of digestive enzymes, inulin, mixed berries juice powder, psyllium husk, antioxidants and more. The garcinia cambogia extract in it is supposed to curb appetite as well but I guess it's too mild to affect me.

Of course, it will revert back if you go back to your old lifestyle right? This is a long-term thing. There is no shortcut. It was suggested to take 2 weeks break between each 14 days plan.

Natural Beauty Brands to Check Out at Guardian Malaysia

I was recently invited to Guardian Malaysia's Live Healthy, Live Beautiful event where I mingled with various brands that work together to make you and I more beautiful, both inside and out. I was glad to see some of these brands which were previously not available locally. These brands also use natural ingredients to reduce the impact on Mother Earth.

My nose led me to this booth LOL These new Lux Botanicals Body Wash smell amazing!! I usually avoid floral scents but these were refreshing.

Love Beauty and Planet aims to make you beautiful while creating a less wasteful planet. The bottles are post-consumer recycled plastic and 100% recyclable. There are several ranges to suit your preference and needs.

Botaneco Garden products are made from botanical ingredients and eco-certified oils. They have quite a lot of products; if left alone at Guardian, you might find me browsing at this section haha

You've heard of micellar water makeup removers but what about shampoos? Pantene Pro-V Micellar Collection is infused with mild micelles paired with plant-based Pro-V nutrient blends to transform damaged hair.

Garden of Eden is a brand I've used since high school years. I especially like the Vitamin E serum for scar removal. Didn't even notice that they have diversified their products to include toners and cleaners now.

Have never tried this British brand before but I like the vibe from this brand! They have a wide assortment of products using coconut oil and argan oil.

I used to purchase Essano from online eCommerce sites but it is now available at Guardian Malaysia! Their products use rosehip oil and smell so gooddd~~

You might have seen videos of the April Skin Magic Snow Cushions and their superb coverage. I used to buy their Magic Snow Cream from Korea and was so sad when it became unavailable. Turns out they repackaged it and I can buy it from Guardian Malaysia now!

A'kin is a 100% vegan brand that does not use palm oil or any kind of animal by-products such as honey or beeswax.
You might have seen Buds products for babies; this Dr Buds Organics brand is for adults. The products feature natural ingredients that have been clinically proven to solve specific skin and scalp conditions. Since I have eczema, they recommended me to try the Ecze-Clear Rescue range.

You're probably familiar with the Palmer's brand by now with all their Coconut Oil Formula products in the market. This brand uses ethically and sustainably sourced coconut oil and Tahitian monoi oil, infused with Tiare flower petals.

And of course, beauty comes from the inside too right? These Ecolite drinks deliver nourishment into your body with bird's nest and collagen in one bottle. Fair warning: if you're familiar with the taste of collagen products, this tastes like it.

There is also a trend for supplement beverages especially oat drinks and 'lady drinks'. There were several brands (Biogreen, GoodMorning, Kinohimitsu, and OatGrain 35) offering similar products but they all taste different so you will probably need testers to decide. You might recognise the 'lady drinks' from the beautiful purplish hue. Surprisingly nice to drink even though they do not contain added sugar - the sweetness comes from blueberries and beet root.
