Elf Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder (Luminance & Sun Kissed)

I don't think even God knows why I bought these. I don't even use bronzers or highlighters (my face is shiny enough). But I was hearing all these good things about Luminance and some recommended Sun Kissed as a blusher. So I went ahead and ordered both.

Most accurate colour

Luminance is a pale ivory like colour. It is shimmery and not too opaque so it's perfect as a highlighter. Since I don't contour and highlight my face, I usually top this over blushers to make them more shimmery. I tried this that day over the Elf Clarifying Pressed Powder since it was too matte. I brushed a little on my nose bridge, middle of forehead and cheekbones. It definitely made me look better than having a flat, matte face.

The above is Sun Kissed on my Elf Studio Blush Brush. It's an orangey brown and also shimmery like Luminance. Because of this, I don't think it will serve well as a bronzer. I'm not sure. Are bronzers supposed to be shimmery? Anyway, as suggested by people online, I used this on my cheeks. Here's the results :

Okay, you can't really see the difference here but if you look close enough, there's some slight orange about an inch below my eye. One thing about this is if you have too much on your brush, it will deposit all of it onto one spot of your face so you have to pat lightly on your cheek with the brush before blending. Also, be gentle when you pick up the powder from the compact as it's loosely packed. You can get too much powder and there will be some in the compact as well. I always blow it away so it won't mess up my box.

Btw, I don't know why but my smiles are ALWAYS senget. My right cheek muscles are much stronger so when I smile, one side smiles more than the other.

With flash. You can see that it brings out a glow in my cheeks. Kinda suits its name, Healthy Glow. It's not exactly a blusher, unless you have pale skin. Just a soft colour on your cheeks.

Swatches :

Oh yeah, some of you might not like the packaging as it looks cheap. The metal pan was just glued onto the plastic and you can see all the glue below.

Pros : Cheap, right amount of shimmer
Cons : Not suitable for traveling since it's so loosely packed, no mirror
My conclusion : I like to use Luminance to add shimmer to my matte blushers and Sun Kissed on days when I just want a slight glow on my cheeks. I won't be purchasing the other colours as they are much darker and I don't use bronzers.

  1. I love this..But then it was so fragile that it broke into loose powder form. So, I hardly use this now bcoz it is too messy.
