Hiruscar Gel

Few weeks back, my college had a roadshow and many booths participated, one from Hiruscar. It was a simple spin the wheel and get a free gift kinda booth and barely caught my attention. But how could I resist free stuff??? There were no strings attached. You just have to fill in your details in a form. I took a spin and got myself a tube of the Hiruscar gel, which was great cos the other stuff were vouchers and headbands. So after sitting in my cupboard for a couple of weeks, I finally opened it.

It was a small tube made of aluminium (reminds me of UHU glue) and you have to poke a hole in it using the cap. The moment I punctured the tip, wth.. The gel started oozing out non stop, resulting in the photo below.

There was nothing I could do to suck it back in so I just used as much as I could and transferred the 'extras' into a jar. This may sound weird but my first sniff made me think of tea leaves. I was surprised it didn't smell odd. Somehow the blue and yellow packaging made me think it would smell really bad, like a mixture of old medicine and tea tree oil.

The translucent gel applies smoothly and dries down almost immediately. There was no need for the 2-3 minutes of rubbing as stated in the instructions. If I rubbed anymore, my skin would turn red. The instruction says to use 3-4 times daily but I only apply this in the morning and before bed as usually I would have makeup on in the day or sunblock or my face just feels too dirty to apply any skincare on it.

There's no sticky feeling after it's absorbed which is a plus point cos my previous vitamin E serum for scar removal was really sticky and oily. My hair would stick to my face and it would feel so sticky the entire night.. But the serum worked like a charm. Will definitely tell you about it soon.

After about 2 days, my pimple scars are noticeably lighter, although IMO, the serum worked better. But I wouldn't mind using this as I don't have to wash my hands and scrub them with soap every night before I sleep. Plus, I can use this anytime and not worry about looking oily or having a sticky face.

Until now, I still don't like the tube. Each time I press it, either nothing comes out or it all just starts coming out at the same time. I got frustrated and ended up squeezing it into the jar to use. I wonder if the original tube is the same.

  1. hello. did you experienced hair growth on the area where you applied the hiruscar cream? Bec. I found on the other blog that she experienced hair growth on parts where she applied the cream, so she won't recommend using it on the face. I'm just afraid more hair will grow if I apply it on the acne scar on my face. will wait for your reply. thanks

It doesn't cause hair growth on the face. I've used it :) And it works, but as with everything, it takes time. Give it at least a month before you really see proper results. Apply it immediately after the pimple has healed (i.e not red, or a scab has formed) because then the mark will fade faster.
