[Food] MyEspresso Cafe, USJ 21

每一個人,都在等一個人

Elie & I met up over coffee but she had to wait for me as MyEspresso Cafe turned out to be quite far from my house =/ Hence this #feels poster xD We coincidentally took individual photos sitting on different sides of the table and I managed to Photoshop myself into her pic LOL

Cafe. Waiting. Love parody

I went during the weekend and there was PLENTY of parking. They used to be upstairs (you can still see it here) but they've recently moved downstairs.

As opposed to the clean and white upstairs area, the ground floor is very cozy and nicely decorated. There are a variety of seating areas that can accommodate from pairs to groups. Try to go earlier as it gets pretty packed around 3-4pm onwards.

Mural arts depicting the process of coffee making.

A long stretch of portraits by Marcus filled one wall, which made for a really pretty background for photos. With soft music in the background, Wi-Fi and power sockets by each table, Elie and I immediately snuggled in and ended up staying there for 5 hours! She later told me that it could be our new lepak location, if only it was nearer!

At MyEspresso, there are 3 cup sizes to allow patrons to control the intensity of their coffee. Sometimes we just want that sweet spot in between 1 shot and 2 shots. Well, you can pick the 5-oz cup for a more intense taste or the 10-oz cup for a lighter drink.

Green Tea Latte
For many Green Tea Lattes, the matcha taste has been overpowered by too much milk. Although I am generally not a fan of green tea, I was delighted to find that this cup had a true green tea taste. There was neither too much milk nor sugar. It's not pretentious.

Chilled Latte
I don't really like icy drinks because the flavour gets watered down by the melting ice about halfway through (I'm a slow drinker). But here at MyEspresso Cafe, their cups are chilled in advance so when the coffee is poured into the cup, it doesn't need ice cubes anymore. When I sipped the Chilled Latte I did a little mental "wow.." because this is one of the best lattes I have ever had. I've always gone for hot ones but this chilled one is the bomb! It was so smooth like the intense flavour was just rolling over my tongue.

Pistachio Latte
I came all the way for this cup. I love pistachios!! I took one sip and.. FUH!! This. Is. Heaven. Like you just NEED to try this! It's made from pistachio paste (not flavouring) so the taste is super kao. Every sip is like eating the real pistachio nut but even better. Except the part where the really thick pistachio paste they use for the coffee art gets stuck on your lip #awkward

Scarlet Temptation
If coffee is not your thing, you can give this fizzy cold drink a try. Layers of strawberry sauce, soda and Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice-cream created a pretty drink (even meow wanted a taste). Mixed together, it was refreshing, creamy and not too sweet.

Affogato
After the Pistachio Latte, this is my next recommended drink! One shot of espresso topped with either Macadamia or Vanilla Haagen-Dazs ice-cream. Fuh! So amazing. The vanilla did a great job of balancing the bitterness and it was a perfect match. The Macadamia wasn't too bad either with it's slight salty & nutty flavour but I felt it was overpowered by the affogato.

Mocha
I thought since we've already tried drinks from every other section, we had to try one of the chocolate drinks as well, right? I guess we should have stopped at the Affogato because the Mocha was quite a disappointment after all the awesome drinks we've been consuming for the past few hours. It was lacking in both the coffee and cocoa department which made me confused. Why serve this when it could potentially ruin the reputation built up by the other drinks?

Bottled Chia Drinks
Spotted these really interesting drinks with chia seeds in the fridge. Didn't get to try them but thought I should share since chia seeds are healthy! There are 3 flavours-

  • Blackcurrant & apple
  • Orange, passionfruit & apple
  • Blueberry & apple

Since they're so packed with chia seeds, one might find that it's too thick. So you can mix it with some soda to not only dilute it but also give it a pop.

Avocado Cheesecake
Hm.. I don't even like fresh avocados so I made Elie get this so I can taste a bite =x It wasn't TOO bad.. Better than fresh avocados but still not loving it. Elie had a different opinion and was praising it non stop though =/

Discarding my personal opinion, I thought it was a refreshing cake; something different from the usual creamy sweet cakes. It has a very interesting texture and taste which I might associate with ice-cream. Ice-cream that never melts ;)

Blueberry Yogurt Cheesecake
Hello! Tough choice between you and Raspberry but I picked you because the staff said you were less sour. Not too sweet but could barely taste the yogurt. I found it to be a tad too thick/hard, almost like it was too cold. Didn't get to see if it would be better after 5 minutes as it was all gone by then =x

Thanks for accompanying me alll the way teehee! If we're feeling super free we can come back for more avocado cheesecake, pistachio latte and heavenly affogato, okay?

    1. Sorry I got the address from their FB. I think it should be Subang Jaya, not Puchong. But anyway it's much more accurate to just key in their cafe name ^^
