Leap Day

The 29th of February is not really significant to me. The only thing that I could relate to it is my primary school class teacher having his birthday on that day. Then, I watched Leap Year and found out that apparently, according to Irish tradition, if a woman proposes to a man on Leap Day, he must accept it. Kinda scary huh? All the Irish men must've been hiding on every Leap Day in the past xD

"May you never steal, lie or cheat.
But if you must steal, then steal away my sorrows.
And if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life.
And if you must cheat, then please cheat death,
because I couldn't live a day without you."

Quoted from the movie. It was the bride's wedding vow to her new husband. Really like this!

Well, of course I did not propose to my Bf haha.. But I decided to surprise him (surprise didn't work) with a handmade rose.

Here's how the greens look like. I must say.. The design is pretty realistic and quite simple (from just a square piece of paper). People who think of origami designs are awesome ^_^ My leaf does look kinda fake though lols

Instructions from HERE. Lovely Rose design HERE. Full rose including stem & stalk from HERE.

Rose itself is about the size of my palm. I had to alter it a little by squashing the outer petals & gluing some parts to looks better. Added a spritz of Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose & it was ready.

So let me tell you how I ruined the surprise so you can give me a facepalm. I was planning to leave it in his room before he came back from work. I went to the shops nearby his place to pick up some of his stuff before heading there. I got a shock cos he was right there in front of the shop when I came out. Stupidly, I asked if he could carry it to my car since it was heavy & raining. There, he found the rose on the car seat.

Hope I can give him something better next time ^_^ And make it a successful surprise haha!
