NARS Summer 2014 Color Collection Review

So happy to get my hands on these NARS lovelies! Needless to say, I had fun playing around with them.

NARS Tropical Princess Duo Eyeshadow

This eyeshadow duo contains 2 shades which can be used separately or together.

Note that these are swatched without primer! The Neon Lemon Lime and Icy Lavender are really pretty colours that glide oh-so-smoothly. They blend effortlessly and go on flawless.

The colour is really refreshing and perfect for summer. I'm not even wearing eyeliner here! The green is eye-catching enough to bring attention to my eyes.

I was already tanned from the 'summer sun' that day so I put on some light pink lipstick and dark coral on my cheekbones to match the eyemake.

NARS Baalbek Eye Paint

Why are you so mesmerizing?! It's a bronze colour with minute gold and purple shimmer. Applies very very smoothly without the presence of any gritty glitters. Once you've smudged it and given it a couple of seconds to dry, it won't budge until you remove it.

I used a flat eyeliner brush for the thin eyeliner and a bigger sorta paddle-like brush for the night look so I can smudge it.

Sweet look for daytime~

Switch to night look by adding a bit more of colour and smudging it to bring out your sexy, sultry side.

Maybelline Hypersharp Liner Laser Precision Review

Maybelline is pushing the limits by producing yet another record breaker, introducing the Maybelline Hypersharp Liner Laser Precision with a 0.01mm tip and 24 hour smudge proof lines!

I didn't quite fancy the thinness of the previous Maybelline Hypersharp Liner but strangely I like this one =/ Even though it's actually thinner =/ Weird, yes.

Ever wanted to draw pretty eyeliners? Now you can! The 0.01 mm makes drawing intricate designs possible and is easy to use.

Sorry, it is darker than what it looks like in this photo.. Soft Black is not only grey but also less pigmented, with a less opaque look. This makes it amazingly suitable for even the bottom liner without looking too harsh. You can layer for a darker line. Genius..

I have my eyes on the brown too!

I don't normally line my bottom liner with a liquid eyeliner because the solid colour is just blergh but I can control the colour using the Maybelline Hypersharp Liner Laser Precision. Used it to create a double-liner look here. With the extremely thin tip, I'm able to draw the lines precisely without a mistake.

Here's a trick to fake luscious lashes! Draw thin strokes along your lash line and it immediately looks like you have thick lashes =D This technique requires really thin eyeliners though. You want them to look natural, not big blobs of black colour.

Removal was a breeze and I absolutely love the Soft Black. A great colour option for people like me who don't really love the intense black colour of most eyeliners.

TruDtox Review - Poorify Your Body

Accumulated toxins in your body can dampen your body's natural functions. Your body tries to tell you in signs like constipation, acne, allergies and tiredness. To keep yourself in the best condition, it is good to detox once in a while.

I read some concerns online and I would just like to note that..

TruDtox does not contain Senna
Prolonged use of Senna in certain detox drinks can be harmful with its side effects. It causes hardening of intestinal linings and the colon will lose its natural ability to contract. Yuck. This is known as bowel dependency and you will get constipation without it. Thankfully, TruDtox does not contain any Senna or laxatives. In fact, it is classified as food by the Ministry of Health.

This box of 15+2 tea bags costs RM 88.50 which is not too bad.

The best method would be to boil it for 20-30 minutes but when I'm lazy I put it in a cup of boiling water and cover it for half an hour. I also toss it into a flask of boiling water occasionally.

When it's a dark brown colour, it's ready. Smells & tastes like light Chinese herbs but not in a smelly way. I kinda liked it, actually.

Results
It will cause some bowel movement 8-10 hours after consumption so they recommended me to consume it at night before bed so that I can go to the washroom in the morning.

1st cup
Omgggg... Felt a pain in my stomach which was rather painful and I got diarrhoea several times. According to TruDtox, this is normal and is because my body has a lot to detox. True to their words, the pain only lasted as long as my toilet trips.

2nd cup
Still diarrhoea but no more pain.

3rd cup onwards
Watery poo that is almost diarrhoea. I read online that the body uses water to flush the toxins out which is why it causes diarrhoea. So it is recommended to consume lots of water to compensate. Btw, anything that comes out is darker and smellier than usual =x

It felt good to eliminate the bad stuff from my body. If you constantly have constipation and feel like your body is getting tired or weighed down, you can give TruDtox a try.

The theme this time was

"Bringing Malaysians Together, One App at a Time"

Phase 1 - Ideation

Over 2500 contestants were narrowed down to 60 ideas who then attended #IdeaJam to be guided by special mentors to refine their idea. 20 shortlisted ideators will get the opportunity to pitch their idea to the panel of judges. Winners from each category received RM 5,000 and a smartphone.

Connected Citizens - Alex Wong Kek Liang for 'Tag A Price'

Connects users with Kementerian Perdagangan Daman Negeri, Koperasi and Kepenggunaan e-service database, known as Pricewatch.

DiGizen's Choice - My Banjir

The app will push early flood alerts to Malaysians in high risk areas, help connect stranded victims to nearby evacuation centres, and provide a collaborative platform for volunteers and relief organizations to mobilize aid speedily to affected communities.

Phase 2 - Development

In the second phase, app developers were invited to a 36-hour Hackathon, HACK!DiGiCFC, where they worked on the winning ideas in Phase 1. On Demo Day, they showcased their mobile apps to the mentors to comment and guide them further. Winners will have their apps marketed on the DiGi online store (Google Play Store, Windows Store and App Store) and users, exposing them to the industry and allowing them to expand their talents. Each winning app will also earn RM 25,000!

MSC Start-Up Accelerator Lite Programme

Prizes also includes this programme by Digital Malaysia, including the Green Lane for the top developer/team which develops them into a start-up complete with a mentor, funds and market opportunities.

Tan Yin See and Barry Loh were also announced as the winners for top Android and Windows app developers, allowing them to participate in Google Malaysia and Microsoft Malaysia's short 'insight' stints, giving them the opportunity to receive knowledge from experts.

It's good to see a brand that is helping out the community and people. Last year's winner got the change to go overseas and met the founder of Wikipedia. The business also bloomed from 4 to 13 staffs in a small venture. DiGi Challenge for Change has also helped produce applications like My Tradisi which allows users to experience traditional games. They are currently working with the Muzium Negara to build more apps.
