Thailand Travels - Khao San Road, Bangkok

Before we left for Thailand, I researched online and multiple sources told me to take a boat to get to Khao San Road. Make sure you look at the map cos if you're on the same side of the river, you can just take a taxi there =_="

At that time, I was staying at Star Inn Hotel which is located in the 'traffic jam area' so we took the BTS a few stops away and hopped into a taxi for about 20 minutes. When leaving, make sure the taxi uses a meter cos there were some who wanted to overcharge us. If they do, just move on to the next taxi.

There are about 2 streets to explore with a variety of shops. Clothing stalls are kinda repetitive so we focused more on the food.

Thailand Travels - Thong Lor Night Market, Bangkok

One of our favourite makan place at Bangkok was the Thong Lor night market. It's across the main road from Padi Madi. Once you get down the stairs at the BTS, they have a map of the hotspots in the area. The night market will be located in this lane, with a little over a dozen food stalls. The dude in orange on a bike is a motor-taxi. They are scattered all over the place but will not harass you for a ride.

Bangkok Hotel - Padi Madi Guest House

After more than a week's research before our trip to Bangkok last year, we picked Padi Madi Guest House because it's ridiculously near to Thong Lor BTS! Once you get down from the BTS, it's like 3 minutes walk away.

What to Wear for Internship?

Before our internship started, we were very anxious and nervous. Not about what the new world would bring us but rather what to wear.. We soon found out that this was extremely vain & unnecessary lolz

I compiled some of the things I wore to office. I worked at an advertising company and didn't go out to meet clients so it isn't very formal.

Day 1 outfit - Tried to look decent and corporate

Vary Pasta @ Damansara Jaya (Christmas 2013)

Another #throwback post =x Christmas 2013! Celebrated with le Bf at Vary Pasta. As I stepped in here and saw the table in the corner, I was again reminded of that woman from Valentine's 2012 #throwbackception

Playing with my then new Samsung Note 3.

Not something I would normally order but le Bf said we should try it so okay!

Cream of Broccoli Soup
This is a creamy green soup which you should avoid if you hate veges. I have no complains since I love my greens plus it went went with the fragrant garlic toast.

Eyebrow Embroidery at Empro

Eyebrow embroidery in Malaysia @ Empro Cosmetic Review~

When I brought my mom to have her eyebrow embroidery done at Empro, they told me that it would last up to 1-2 years. They lied!!

After 2.5 years, her Bonbrow is still very much visible but we decided to touchup the colour anyway. FYI, if you return to touchup the colour within 3 years, it is 50% off or even cheaper (depends on the number of months since your previous touchup). So, this touch up is only RM 440, which breaks down to less than RM 15 a month.

Star Inn Hotel, Bangkok

#throwback 1 year ago.. After returning from Hua Hin, le Bf wanted to randomly walk into any hotel. So we ended up at this Star Inn Hotel which was smack outside Nana BTS.

Star Inn Hotel alley

Also has a bar/restaurant downstairs. Food wasn't cheap so we usually bought food back to the hotel. Sometimes a mushroom soup seller would open a stall nearby.

Star Inn Hotel Bangkok entrance

24 hour bar and a receptionist who speaks English! She can also help you make phone calls or recommend places to go. The lobby was also where we hung out to use the Internet since there is no Wi-Fi in the room.

Star Inn Hotel Bangkok bar

We chose the cheaper windowless room at about 1000 baht with a 1000/2000 baht deposit. Bed was very uncomfortable as we could feel the springs, pillow was not fluffy and the blanket was pathetic. It was very stuffy so we HAD to turn on the air cond which made it unbearably cold with the 'blanket'.

Rooms at Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

Small TV was almost useless. Didn't spend much time here anyway. There is a well-lit dressing table on the left and multiple plug points around the room (about 5).

Air conditioning and TV at Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

Strangely, there was a window. It can be opened but Bangkok is so hot, you probably wouldn't.

Room with small window at Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

We kept the fridge stocked with M-150 at all times xD

M-150 drink at Bangkok

Bathroom was decent with hot water but the sliding door did not have a lock and there was no ventilation fan/window.

Washroom in Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

Huge ass mirror on the ceiling. Probably for kinky night activities since Nana is famous for its night entertainment. Walk down the street outside the hotel and you will see girls or 'girls' all over. We also often saw men bringing them back to the hotel. Not a very suitable location for families with young children.

Mirrored room at Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

View from my window : You can see the Nana BTS station on the top left.

Star Inn Hotel Bangkok is very near to the BTS

The lift and hallways are pretty small but hey, a lift is a good thing when you're carrying lots of luggage.

Small lift in Star Inn Hotel Bangkok

Honestly, I would rather be back at Padi Madi Guesthouse but if you're a single guy.. looking for fun.. I guess it's okay xD

There is a convenience store about 5 minutes walk away, a Subway, plus decent and indecent massage places. One of them down the road provided girls who would give you a bubble bath using their boobs or something. I managed to Google their website but their service is not cheap. You can look for a place with the word 'Doctor' in it.

Address : 131/40-41 Soi Sukhumwit 7/1, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.
Location : Beside Nana BTS
Price : Around 1000 baht

Second Product Choice A

Miacare Acne Patch for Day (RM 9.90/12 patches - sample has 3 patches)
You've heard enough about acne cream but what about an acne patch? Stick one directly on your pimple and it will absorb the pus, keep it clean and heal it without leaving scars. It's almost invisible and can be worn under makeup. Le bf only noticed it after a few hours xD It managed to heal my new pimple overnight while concealing it.

Miacare Acne Patch for Day review

Bad breath can be a very embarrassing thing caused by bacteria in your mouth. Get rid of it with these Dentiste products.

Bad breath

Third Product Choice A

Dentiste Oral Rinse (RM 25.90/380 ml - sample is 50ml)
The Oral Rinse neutralizes pH level and increases saliva flow which cleans and reduces bacterial deposit. One 50ml sample can last me about a week. It's not too 'spicy' and is very refreshing.

Car Washing During a Drought

With this water crisis going on right now, my colleague has been getting barely any water for more than a week so every time I open a tap, I think of her and I just feel so bad for using up the water. I'm shocked at how some people are still luxuriously using this very precious resource.

Things like cooking, drinking, bathing, etc I get it.. But I drove past my neighbour standing outside her house watering ONE potted plant with a whole tsunami of water as she stood there dreaming.

That poor little flower did not need ALL that water =/

I haven't washed my car in forever. FYI, my car is red but it's almost PINK now from all the dirt =x I was too lazy wanted to save water.

Actually, you can still wash your car BUT using these tips!

1) Use a wet cloth/sponge instead of hosing your car down

2) Use water you've collected from the rain in a pail, not from the hose (be careful of mosquito larvae though!). You can also use water which you used to rinse vegetables, rice etc.

3) Use minimal soap so you have less to rinse off

4) After it rains, wipe your car or else it will leave stains

I haven't been taking my own advice lol but if you have any other tips, you can leave them below! Maybe that'll motivate me to wash my car =/
