Trio Hair Makeover at Storm Hair Studio

Chinese New Year is coming up and my hair was screaming for help! Dropped by Storm Hair Studio again to repair my hair. You might remember my reddish hair was done there too.

Can't believe I've been walking around like this! (nah actually I say that every time)

Again, I had Jessica to do my hair. This time I did hair dye (RM 129), cut, scalp treatment (RM 39) and hair treatment! Total was RM 168 only! My hair treatment was free from their loyalty card and the cut was complimentary.

I had requested for the colour from the bottom of my old hair and it was quite accurate! Am happy with the result. Scalp treatment immediately soothed the sting from the dye and the hair treatment has left my hair feeling soft and smooth despite me torturing it. It had also revived the shine in it.

Loving my new hair! The shorter length is refreshing and love the colour as well.

My sis went with me that day and got her hair dyed as well. She got a sorta gradient hair from orangey brown at the roots to dark-almost-black brown at the ends. Not sure if accidental or on purpose. Then my MUM went too after seeing the results of our hair xD

Looks normal here..

Highlights! It's an uneven bob. Maybe you think it's normal but I've never seen my mom sport this hairstyle before lolz

She initially wanted a hairstyle like this so it did give me quite a shock.

3 of us at a cousin's wedding with our new hair xD

At this rate, I see myself returning here ^_^

Business Hour :
Monday - Fri : 11am - 9pm
Sat -Sun : 10am - 8pm

Tel : 03-78776422
Location : SS2, Petaling Jaya (couple of shops away from Island Cafe, on the other end from McDs)
* Not recommended to drive there on Monday evenings as there's a night market right in front of it and it's really congested + the stalls may block your car. Seriously, it gets really bad as the vendors don't care if your car is in the middle of the night market with no way to get out.

Leaders Insolution Aquaringer Skin Clinic Mask

Using yet another variant from this brand. So far, I haven't been disappointed.

This one offers hydration and gets rid of dead skin cells.

I believe that when skin is thoroughly hydrated, fine lines are less visible and skin produces less oil (if you have oily skin).

Almost forgot how comfortable this mask feels. With its strategically placed holes and slits, it hugs the curves of my face and best of all, covers my undereyes as well.

The material resembles a cloth which is thick yet breathable. It is able to hold the essence well without dripping all over nor falling off my face.

After patting in the essence, it still feels slightly sticky so I wash it off if I'm going out. If you apply this before bed, you can just leave it on overnight.

The mask successfully hydrates my face so it no longer feels tight. I believe with long term usage, it can do what it claims.

Ingredients :

Pros : Very good sheet (that sounded weird lol), hydrating
Cons : I had to wash off the remainder

My conclusion : Looking forward to trying the others out!

** I won the product in a giveaway. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

Luview Crystal Cover BB Cream

I've seen several Luview reviews around but never got to try it. Thanks to Kim for this mini sample!

I am not sure what shade mine is as it's not written. The Luview Crystal Cover BB Cream goes on smoothly and feels light on skin.

The BB Cream offers UV protection of SPF 30, whitening and wrinkle improvement. I know the colour looks too fair here but it'll oxidize in a bit.

It effectively covers redness, pores and blackheads around my T zone. As you know, I have dry skin and this was still acceptable with minimal flaking. Probably works well with a hydrating base!

Coverage is quite good considering the fact that it feels so light. It managed to even out my skin tone, making blemishes less angry and also lightening my dark eye circles.

I like the overall effect of this BB Cream. It gives me a brightened complexion and offers good enough coverage (I still apply concealer for my extreme panda eyes).

Unlike so many other BB creams, it doesn't give me a ghostly white face (plus it's available in 2 shades!) nor make my skin extra oily. Worth a try if you're a fan of BB creams.

Silkygirl Gentle Eye & Lip Makeup Remover

Phew.. It's been a while since I blogged about makeup removers. After all, they're a really essential part of skincare. Removing your makeup before your sleep is a must! This one here is for eyes and lips.

I love these bilayer ones as they can remove waterproof makeup which means makeup comes off easier and faster so I can be gentler. Don't tug too hard on your eye area or you'll get lines and lash fall =(

Shake the bottle to combine both layers and soak a cotton pad with it.

To remove waterproof makeup, especially mascara, hold the cotton pad over your eye for 10 seconds.

Then, with just 4 wipes, my eye is clean! *gasp!* Even my contacts are gone xD My naked eye is so unattractive =/

I still have to double cleanse but the oil isn't the stubborn kind.

Ingredients : Water, Cyclomethicone, Butylene Glycol, Isopropyl Myristate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Sodium Chloride, Panthenol, Water, Disodium EDTA, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Sodium Hydroxide.
Made in Malaysia

Pros : Effective, not too oily, removes waterproof makeup
Cons : -

My conclusion : A good makeup remover! As it's not too oily, I could use this on my face as well if I don't intend to bring two with me. I believe it is affordable as well.

Shills Black Bamboo Charcoal Whitening Mask

Wasn't too sure what's the exact name of this mask with so many words =/ Mask claims to be able to draw out and decompose FAT and dirt in pores @_@ Well, I've heard of the wonders of charcoal in absorbing smell but it's definitely a first for fats. Also works to brighten skin, tighten pores and improve complexion.

Sheet looks strangely like seaweed xD It's of a fabric material which isn't too fragile but doesn't feel thick or heavy. I was pretty amused as this is my first time using a black sheet mask. Funny how a black mask is supposed to whiten your face xD

Size and shape is alright. Mine's a lil wonky around the eyes and nose..

The sheet is super moist with essence but doesn't drip at all. It hugs my face comfortably without falling off.

After 20 minutes, the mask begins to dry up a little which is the indicator for you to remove it. The remaining essence dries up really fast without leaving any stickiness. However, if you wet your face, you will realize that it's still there.

Glad to see that the black colour of the mask didn't transfer to my face xD Or I would be very 'black faced' indeed! In fact, my face seemed brightened apart from being hydrated. Not sure if it managed to suck any fats out of my pores lolz I enjoyed using this mask and wouldn't mind using it again ^_^

Hansel & Gretel : Witch Hunters

I'm sure you've heard of the story of Hansel & Gretel; two kids lost in the forest and stumbled upon a cottage made of candy (a la Charlie and the Chocolate Factory style) which belongs to a witch. Fortunately, they managed to escape in the end.

Well, Hansel & Gretel are grown ups now and boy did they turn out finnnee..!

*squeals* Hawkeye!

Synopsis :
After getting a taste for blood as children, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become the ultimate vigilantes, hell bent on retribution. Now, unbeknownst to them, Hansel and Gretel have become the hunted, and must face an evil far greater than witches…their past. The siblings have gone into the business of witch hunting now and strangely, spells & curses do not affect them, which is a great advantage. Now, they've been hired to get rid of a sorceress who plots to sacrifice the children during 'Blood Moon'.

Thanks to Nuffnang, I got to watch this last night!

And also ChurpChurp for the extra tix for my friends =x

If you're expecting a fairytale story, you'll never be so disappointed! This movie is so gory with blood splattering everywhere (imagine that in 3D!). It's no longer about 2 weak & naive children but grown ups who are very much capable of defending themselves. Expect lots of action, fighting, blood and some funny scenes. I wouldn't mind watching this again, especially with that eye candy.

*Spoilers below* Highlight to reveal
Hilarious when the troll said his name is EDWARD and everyone had a flashback of Twilight. At one scene Edward said "trolls serve witches" and walks off. He was referring to Gretel being a witch and he was serving her. Didn't get that one until le bf told me.

K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h WP (Brown)

I've heard about this eyeliner since some time ago but just got the chance to try it recently. I chose Brown since I already have Black liners. It's one of those with the thing inside which you can shake to distribute the ink. I can't even begin to describe how addictive it is! Shake shake shake shake.. xD

Excuse my wrinkly hand... =/ With this brush, I'm able to draw thin to thick lines and it's easy to control if I want it to go on lightly or heavily. The ink goes on smoothly and dries fast.

I especially love it for it's brown colour as it's less harsh. As I have to draw quite a thick line in order for it to be visible, brown looks way more natural.

With this, I'm able to create precise, sharp and more natural looking eyeliners ^_^

Love it! There aren't as many brown eyeliners in the market compared to black so this is a good product to buy (RM 59.90).

My Beauty Diary 2-Step Africa Hydrating Pack

Among the newer My Beauty Products are these 2-Step masks which consist of a sheet mask and a sachet of serum.

There are 5 types with their own functions.

The one I have is the 2-Step Africa Hydrating Pack which comes in this cute packaging.

I think this is the first time I'm seeing a mask like this.

Is that supposed to be a mango tree...? lol First up is the Mango Moisturizing Mask.

As usual, thin sheet that fits well (although not perfectly on the upper lip). This one is very moist but it did drip twice.

After 20 minutes, I smell like a mango! Wearing this mask, you might think there are real slices of fresh sweet mango on your face. Yums! There is still an abundance of essence on my face. Massage it and let it be. It will slowly absorb.

Then you can proceed to step 2, the Myrtle Rejuvenating Emulsion. It's white and creamy but not too thick. Spread it between my palms and massage onto face. There's way too much in the sachet for one application. Smells really refreshing which compliments the earlier mango. Having a tropical feast on my face right here!

Although it initially felt heavy with the mask essence + step 2 emulsion, surprisingly everything sank in and left my skin feeling powdery smooth, hydrated, soft and brightened.

Although more expensive than the usual MBD masks, this one is sorta a 2-in-1 product and there are many masks in the market at this price or higher which don't function as well. I would give the other variants a try! ^_^

Price : RM 6.90
