China Glaze Luxe And Lush

Another purchase from Secret Allure. I got this with the OPI Fit For A Queensland.

I didn't want glitter cos I'm bored of them and they're so hard to remove. I've never tried flakes before so I opted for one.

You can see the flakes better in this pic.

I was pretty disappointed when I took the brush out. The flakes were not as condensed as I thought. The clear polish was quite goopy too.

In order to get a good amount of flakes, I had to use one thick layer. Thin layers did not pick up enough flakes.

It was pretty rough and the bits were sticking out. Greatly improved with top coat but still not the best.

Reminds me of Magnum Almond xD

What about you? Do you prefer flakes or glitter?

Price : About RM 30
Bought from : Secret Allure

The Malay Man

Class this week made me think of an article I saw some time back on a forum. I can barely remember the details but it's something like the poster went to the bank with his mom and she got robbed. She recalled seeing a strange Malay man in the dark alley near the bank so she suspected it was him.

Soon, many furious forum members appeared and asked him why must he mention that it's a Malay. Is he being racist? Hence, he changed it to 'a dark skinned man' then more people came and asked why does he have to describe the skin colour of the man. This is still racist.

Now, why is it racist when he was just describing what his mother saw? Why should he even say it's a man then? Is he sexist? Should he have just stated that his mom saw a human being in the alley? Would someone come along and call him 'species-ist'?

It wasn't as though his sentence was "The suspicious man in the dark alley robbed my mum. He must be Malay". Now THAT is racist.

Racism is a very sensitive topic here and we try to avoid remarks that sound racist and could offend others. However, sometimes some people just think too much.

Like this picture here :

I think many of you didn't notice the dolphins there but young innocent children immediately recognize the dolphins. Why? Because their mind is not trained to see the two people. Just like how they don't see racism. It only exists because we believe in it.

Fashion That's Friendly

What do you think of when I say... 'cheap clothes'? I think of mega sales, mountains of clothes, stuffy environment, sticky arms and aunties shoving me #true story

But this is different! It's FRIENDLY.

Based on the number of likes on their FB page, I'm quite a slowpoke =/

This is Friendly Fashion, a place where people get to sell their stuff without opening a blogshop. Not the first of it's kind as I've already seen it elsewhere years ago but this is more organized.

There are so many categories to choose from which makes it easier if you're looking for something specific. For example, I'm always at 'Shorts & Capris' because I like shorts. I wouldn't look for swimsuits, sportswear or maternity clothes.. =/

Many of these clothes are pre-loved though but some girls are just selling impulse purchases. You can get some awesome deals here like this pair of DIY ombre shorts that sold for just RM 30 wtf!

Because she has nice shorts, I want to see the other stuff she's selling! Fortunately, I can do this because posters have to login and items they post are connected to their account. These are all below RM 100 and some are even below RM 50 =O

So nice right?!

There's space for extra information and more photos plus a comment box ^_^

You can find dresses for as low as 5 bucks here but I'm not going to tell you where! Search yourself xP

For You Dad

If one day someone tries to bully me, I'll just shout at them, "You know who is my father ah?!"

He is Ah Pa.

He's not a Datuk nor minister or anyone with a high post. But I know he will be there for me if I ever get in trouble. Maybe ground me after that but still be supporting me first when I need him. Because he is my father.

Happy Fathers' Day, Dad.

Although he probably won't read this lolz He's not the mushy kind. Probably welcomes a tower of Carlsberg more =/

Hope you're having a superb day with your dad today!

If I Could Change One Thing

I'm definitely one of those girls who aren't fully satisfied with their body. In the old times if you're ugly then too bad! You can be Cinderella's stepsister. But now with plastic surgery and all that, people are given the opportunity to change the way they look.

I wish to have a smaller nose..

Smaller face

Bigger iris (contacts are temporary but there isn't a solution to this now)

Bigger boobs (although I could live with this.. not really keen on boobjob)

Smaller feet, smoother skin, silkier hair blablabla.. The list goes on.

If you were given the choice to change only ONE (1) thing about yourself.. What would it be?

Now you're probably thinking which feature would matter the most. Body or face? Eyes or lips?

I gave it some thought and have come to the conclusion that if I could only change one thing, I would change my definition of beauty. I think it would be lovely to see beauty in everything. I wake up, glance in the mirror and think 'oh god I'm so beautiful'. I go for lunch with my friends and I'm happy cos they are all also so beautiful. I walk down the street and I'm bombarded with beautiful people; the gardener, the delivery guy, the bus driver and even the mak cik who sells nasi lemak. No problem finding a husband either cos they are all so dam gorgeous!

Now.. Where can I find someone to hypnotize me?

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Oil

Another Hada Labo product I've been waiting to try~ Their cleansing oil which contains high purity olive oil.

Just like their other products, this contains hyaluronic acid and is free from fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol & colorant.

Very good pump complete with a lock. I think this pump is way better than the one on the MAC Cleanse Off Oil. True, it's common and not so special but who cares! I just want a pump that won't splash cleansing oil on me.

This is one pump only which is already sufficient for my face, including eye makeup. The oil is just perfect.. It spreads easily, allowing me to massage it without tugging on my face or feeling like I'm massaging the makeup back into my face. If you're wondering why the oil isn't yellow, that's cos the oil is clear.. The bottle is tinted yellow =/

Directions : Keep your hands & face dry. Pump sufficient cleansing oil onto your palm and gently massage onto your face and eye area. Wet face to emulsify cleansing oil. Rinse thoroughly with water.

As you can see, it removed all my makeup (except eyelash glue which is  a PITA) and even left my skin still looking & feeling great. No dryness, flaking nor tight feeling. It wasn't greasy either as it emulsified well.

Removes dirt, oil & makeup Check!
Removes waterproof mascara Check!
Gentle to eye area Check!
Leaves skin feeling soft & smooth Check!
Does not leave unpleasant greasy feeling Check!
Low irritation Check!

I can slap this on and just massage all my makeup off. However, if I wore falsies, using a separate duo layered makeup remover is better.

Ingredients : Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Triethylhexanoin, Sorbeth-30 Tetraisostearate, Peg-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Water, Dextrin Palmitate / Ethylhexanoate, BHT, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hyaluronate

Size : 200 ml
Price : RM 49.90 but I bought it at half price
Bought from : Caring Pharmacy but it's available elsewhere as well
Made in Japan

Pros : Cheaper than MAC, no mineral oil, small amount needed, easy to spread, no greasy feeling after, emulsifies well, removes all makeup except eyelash glue, doesn't dry out my skin, gentle to eye area
Cons : Unable to remove eyelash glue

My conclusion : If it isn't obvious enough, I love this cleansing oil!! Initially I had my mind set on repurchasing the MAC Cleanse Off Oil but this is clearly a cheaper alternative (especially since I bought it at RM 20+ only omg) that perhaps could even be better.

Maybelline Baby Lips (Smoothing Cherry)

Super slowpoke with this.. I bought this quite some time ago but wanted to finish my current lip balm before opening it. And it finally finished! Like after an eternity..

Instant 8 hour moisture and rejuvenated lips in one week?? And it has SPF 20 too to protect your lips from the sun.

Cute packaging.. But the cover isn't the easiest to open. It smells heavily of sweet cherries which I think is a bit too much. I can get used to it though.

This lip balm glides easily over my lips and sorta melts on it. Love lip balms with shea butter! Apparently the Centella Essence is supposed to reduce fine lines while increasing elasticity & suppleness too! It's quite moisturizing and probably better than the tinted one.

I wouldn't say it lasted me 8 hours though.. I had to reapply after every meal, even a snack. Probably if I didn't move my lips it would last 8 hours lol

Ingredients :

Size : 4g
Price : RM 10.90
Bought from : Pharmacy
Made in China

Pros : Moisturizing, applies smoothly, reduces lip lines
Cons : Scent too heavy, cover can be a bit tricky to open

My conclusion : Overall, I think this is a good lip balm. When I apply it, my lips are smoother and more hydrated. Only wish it had less scent.

I Like Them Buffed

As I have promised myself.. This is the first item I used from Golly Lock's parcel: the 4 step nail buffer.

I was previously blown away by the Nail Tek crystal nail file which the shop assistant said can also be used on the nail surface but I think this is better at that.

If you think my middle finger looks strangely better, that's cos I already did that finger =/

Really sad nails.. (except the middle one of course)

Shape your nails using the nail file. This one here is very fast because it's coarse. Coarse files have been associated with nail breakage/peeling but I didn't experience that. I do get it from using metal nail files though.

Step 1 : Rough nail buffer is used to smooth out the ridges etc. See the 'lines' on my nails disappeared. Now it's smooth but ugly and matte. Don't be rough with this! You don't wanna thin your nails too much.

Step 2 : Medium nail buffer is gentler and smoother. Kinda like fine tuning what has been done in Step 1.

Step 3 : This is where the magic happens. This surface is the smoothest and makes your nails shine like crazy! Looks like I applied top coat or something ^_^

I never knew natural nails can look so good! It's great to give my nails a break from nail polish once in a while.

** I won the product from a giveaway. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

April & May Empties

Bi monthly empties post to motivate myself to finish stuff =/ And also short reviews for when I'm too lazy lolz

Actually I'm not crazy over this purely because it's a bit painful when you peel the wax strip off. However, it keeps the hair at bay for a longer time compared to shaving & hair removal cream. But then.. it also removes less hair (maybe because I'm so hairy =_="). Actually I'm kinda gross.. After using, I like to stare at all the hair that came out and I'll be like super amazed at how long the hair is. Aaanyway, this is a possible repurchase.

So sad when it ran out =( I got this at the end of October so it's about time.. I've been using eyeliner more than usual ever since I started college. Nope.. Gotten lazy now =/ Definitely worth repurchasing. Just thinking if I should considering all the eyeliners I still have. Argh!

3. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate sample
Still like the lavender smell but it didn't give me enough to love it like the Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution.

4. Organic Aid Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream
Actually I didn't finish this but my Bf did =_=" I couldn't stand the sight of his uber dry skin. I also apply this on him during the day time so non-greasy is a must. Over time, I do see improvement but I definitely need some kinda hardcore-mega hyaluronic acid-shea butter-whatever butter-moisture retaining cream for his skin =/

5. MAC Cleanse Off Oil
This is really good! But I may have found a cheaper alternative xP

6. Mentholatum Mogitate Kajitsu Lip Balm (Strawberry)
Not bad at all.. Like the smell ^_^ It's good as a lip balm under lipstick since it won't slide about too much but if I'm not wearing lipstick, I prefer a more moisturizing lip balm.

7. Veet Hair Removal Cream
My favourite hair removal method now! So happy because the bumps and scars on my leg (from shaving) are slowly disappearing. Already on my second tube but in a different variant and I received the purple one as well so yayy get to try them all wahahhaha..

8. Loreal Total Repair 5 Shampoo
I've been using this shampoo for a few years now.. At first I did find my hair to like it a lot as it's smoother but after that, I feel like my hair needs something stronger (is that a sign of my hair becoming more damaged?)

9. Loreal Total Repair 5 Conditoner
The conditioner is pretty good. Every time I apply it after shampoo, my hair immediately becomes so much smoother and softer.

I guess this means I finish an average of 5 products a month which is pretty slow.. considering all the things I have pfft..

A Bucket of Thanks

If you follow Qiuqiu on Twitter, you would have noticed her always being grateful for something and it's all because of The Secret. I honestly do not know what that is (promise I'll go find out but I think it's a book). I think the idea is if you're grateful for your current situation, good things will come. I'm not sure how true that is but I like the idea of being grateful for things that happen in your life. Although I found it strange at first, somehow the more I see her tweets, I find that I'm beginning to be more grateful myself wtf

Firstly, I'm grateful for all the lovely packages I've been receiving recently. My parents must be sick of signing for them by now xD

I won the blogger prize from Supermodel's Secrets and didn't even realize it (somehow skipped my name wth). Seeing a BIG parcel on your table when you wake up is just.. pure bliss lolz

There were also cash vouchers inside so yay! Shopping time~ xD Which makes me also dam grateful for a job with a nice boss which I feel that I'm overpaid. I will work harder, boss!

Then I got my prize from Golly Locks where I won her giveaway. Already posted this yesterday.

Birthday gift from MapleLens.com arrived which will be sent to the winner of my Birthday giveaway. In fact, I have several other companies whom I will be hosting giveaways with. Just that I haven't really found the time to do it.

I have been looking at the Biore sunblocks at Watson's. Just noticed there were a few new ones then I won a full sized one from Sharon's blog omggg

I have used several Veet products before and I like their hair removal creams. I wrote an advertorial for them but decided to put effort into it by posting a more uncommon photo of myself and it was chosen as one of the Best Fun Photos or something. So yay again! Two new full sized products to use.

On the same day as the Biore & Veet parcels arrived (6th June 2012), another little bundle of joy also appeared into my life. Say hello to my little friend..!

This is NOT MY BABY btw.. He's my nephew =_=

That morning my sister's husband MMS-ed me a pic of her lying on a hospital bed. First thing that came into my mind : OMG SHE'S GIVING BIRTH! (wasn't expecting it until later this month) then I realized oh.. It's just a regular checkup. So I messaged him saying he scared me. Which he replied by saying 'she will deliver in a couple of hours'.

she will deliver in a couple of hours

deliver in a couple of hours

couple of hours

I immediately jumped out of bed and went to ask my parents, finding them already preparing (we have not prepared the bed, bottles, whatever). Turns out they already knew but didn't tell me cos I was sleeping =_= WTH?!

For the next few hours, we express-cleaned the house from all the dust and dog fur.

Also grateful for a wonderful bf who brought me to Maiu again for Jap buffet. I know it's quite pricey since he has to pay for two so THANK YOU!

Then Nicole bought me a drink for my birthday. Actually I'm more grateful for the night of laughter =)

Started using the Essential shampoo & conditioner then felt so dam touched and happy that Cynthia lugged it all the way from Singapore for me and Nicole had to carry it too omggg why my friends so nice wan?? My soft hair says thank you.

Last Instagram pic for this post.. I'm grateful because I don't have to be the 'actress' in my video assignment HAHAHA! =x okay, this one doesn't really count actually. Or should I be grateful because I have a videogenic friend?? ^_^

To balance back all the goodness I've been receiving, I've decided that others should receive some goodness from me too! Apart from the giveaways on my blog, I decided to give someone something she wanted because I got mine for free but never used it. Don't waste good stuff, right?

Also, there's something else that has been bothering me. Some time back (a really long time ago, actually), I did something bad to someone and I never apologized so I will do it! Soon..
