Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate + Eye

I'm going to be frank here. I have already tried a sachet sample of this some time back due to the craze but not only did I not see any results, it gave me bumps =(

I gave it another try recently and got the same results. Was quite disappointed but I decided to give it one last chance when Kiehl's included a mini vial of it together with the Dark Spot Solution.

To my surprise, my skin reacted differently to it this time! @_@ Strange..

I remember asking the SA if I should use this once or twice daily and she replied "well, it's called Midnight Recovery so you should only use it at night"

Why night? That's when your skin is repairing itself and is at it's maximum absorption rate.

According to a consumer test, the test subjects got the following results :

Restores skin’s natural appearance by morning: 85%
Improves the appearance of facial contours by morning: 85%
Nurtures and replenishes skin: 85%
Skin feels more hydrated: 85%
Skin feels softer: 85%
Skin appears less tired and well rested: 80%

It's recommended to use this after DSS without moisturizer.

Now, some of you may be afraid of applying oil on your face. Will it make your face oilier? Clog pores? Well, you must remember that it's not cooking oil that you're putting on your face. According to Kiehl's, "The key to maintaining a youthful, clear complexion is to replenish skin with oils that promote healthy skin function as well as feed skin oils that regulate it’s innate oil production." In fact, Lavender essential oil helps to regulate oil production while soothing redness from acne. Just like bacteria, there are good & bad oils (Vitagen contains good bacteria).

I feel it didn't absorb as well as the DSS and left my face slightly shiny but really smooth. I didn't notice much difference but sometimes I do feel that my face glows in the morning.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate retails for RM 220/30 ml.

Then there's the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye which Jolynn of Kiehl's suggested after I asked about their Avocado eye cream.

It comes out as a thick cream. I warm it between my fingers and pat around my eye. There's no greasy or sticky residue. The eye cream smells just like the MRC (lavender) so erm.. my eyes smell nice lol

Of course, I can't say it did wonders for my eyes since I have only used it for a short time. It's supposed to help with puffiness, fines lines & wrinkles. I do like how it moisturizes without giving me milia. No eye irritation either. Concealer goes on top without a problem.

Midnight Recovery Eye retails for RM 150/15 ml

The Lifesized Barbie

Recently, I've been seeing photos if this girl on Facebook and she's just WOW! The resemblance with a real Barbie doll is creepy.

This is Valerie Lukyanova.

Now I see many people saying it's Photoshop, plastic surgery yada yada yada.. Whatever. Just enjoy the photos and gawk at her Barbie-ness.

wtf her waist is so tiny!

Am I the only one who stared at the couch lines to see if there's any Photoshop involved? haha..

Look at the height of her heeellllsss!! ^^^^^

Her skin is ridiculously smooth and matte? Super awesome foundation/skincare/Photoshop? lol

She even poses like a Barbie doll omgomgomg

But maybe it's just knowing her angles and makeup? She does look different in certain photos. But still gorgeous, IMO.

I do wonder how she breaths through that nose..

Okay enough.. All photos from her fan page. Go stalk yourself xD

Kanebo Blanchir Superior White Luster

From the name of this product, you probably wouldn't be able to guess what it's for, eh? According to the Kanebo website, you're supposed to use this after Cream Soap and before Clear Conditioner (lotion).

From their description, I guess it's something like an exfoliator that also moisturizes. It's under 'special care' so I'm not sure. Nicole mentioned that it's supposed to help with the absorption of other products.

Back of the bottle, if you can read Japanese.

Big bottle & travel size. I'm keeping the travel sized bottles for when I travel (which rarely happens lol).

That is actually the old packaging. The new bottle looks like this.

I think I prefer the old bottle though. Top view of the cap!

Both full size & travel size come with pumps that are really good. It's so smooth and doesn't feel like it's going to break anytime soon.

The product itself is a liquid-gel that's slightly milky white. When you spread it on your skin, it's quite watery and absorbs quickly without leaving anything behind.

I pump it out on a cotton pad and wipe it across my face following the instructions.

Size : 100 ml
Bought from : Kanebo counter
Made in Japan

My conclusion : I've been using this for a few months and I'm pretty certain it helps with removing flaky skin. It's an extra step in my routine but isn't tedious at all since I only do it at night and it absorbs fast. Won't be repurchasing any time soon since I have 2 big bottles of this =/

Essence French Glam 02 Rose Glam

Like many people, I don't have perfect nails. Sure, you can shape them however you want but when it's bare & naked, does it look pretty? Original French manicures are only complete with the nude base colour.

So I picked this up.. There were 5 types there, 3 under 'French Glam' range. Mine is the middle shade. First one is White Glam while 3rd one is Pink Glam. Remaining 2 are French Matt & French Nude.

It comes with a regular brush. Since it's sheer, any streakiness/uneveness isn't really noticeable.

This nail polish works well as a nude base. I think the colour is very neutral & natural looking. It smoothed my nail surface & made it shiny.

I didn't do a French manicure though. This was for my Like a Sir nails xP

Could have used this for my previous nail arts.

I have discolouration on my nails here!

I feel like getting the pinker one to try out. Maybe it'll give my nails a healthier look? ^_^

Size : 0.27 f. oz. / 8 ml
Price : RM 8.90
Bought from : COCiCOCi

Sasatinnie Aloe & Olive Deep Moist Silky Mask

People just can't come up with short names nowadays, can they?

Another mask by Sasatinnie! Honestly, before this I was under the impression that Sasatinnie stuff are cheapo & useless but I was wrong! Since I liked the previous one, I bought 2 more to try.

Recently, my skin is getting more sensitive & dry because of all the sun exposure in Taylor's dammit. 'Aloe' & 'Deep Moist' sounded like a good choice.

Compared to the Platinum White Truffle Brightening Silky Mask, the packaging didn't really appeal to me even though it's just a different colour.

And the ones inside are even more unappealing! =_=" What happened?? I loved the grey coloured design.

Same info so copy pic =x

I look so bug eyed lol I really like the shape of this mask as it fits around my nose & eye. I dislike masks that neglect my undereye area. Don't discriminate please! My undereyes are equally as important.

The thin sheet reminds me of My Beauty Diary masks. It smells like those scented hand wipes in Chinese restaurants. Could do without the fragrance.

I could feel that my skin was hydrated & smoother after using this mask. It's not sticky and absorbed well when patted in.
Size : 10 pcs per box
Price : RM 26.90
Bought from : Sasa
Made in Taiwan

Pros : Hydrating, thin sheet, good shape, no sticky residue, absorbs well
Cons : Fragrance

My conclusion : Not bad but I prefer the Platinum White Truffle one which most probably is a repurchase ^_^

Painting Nails Like A Sir

You've probably already seen this nail art on the internet already.

For once, my right hand actually looks better! What sorcery is this?!

This is my left hand which should be nicer since I'm right handed but no.. It just went wonky all the way.

This is before top coat. I swear, nail arts look better with Seche Vite on top.

Moustache was done using nail art pen from night market. Argh! I haven't painted my nails let alone done nail art for months so both my hands refused to coorperate =_="

E Portrait Mode

If you ever thought I had 'such nice skin', you need to read this post lol

Most of the photos in my blog were taken using my Olympus Pen Lite E-PL2. Shots of people are usually taken using e-portrait mode which is like 'beauty effect'. Basically, it makes you look better because it smooths skin.

First example is my latest profile picture. I'm already wearing full on makeup (which means foundation & concealer) so blemishes aren't so obvious PLUS the benefits of Hello Kitty specs!

I'm a nice person so I'm gonna make it easier for you to compare.

I like to brighten all photos on my blog. Just feel it's nicer? o_O If you noticed, I also removed my panda eyes. They seriously make all the difference! Example below is more shocking.

E-portrait works great for uneven skin tone, pimples, stray hair & pores (doesn't seem to help much for my nose though). I do think it is a little too fake sometimes so I just edit the original photo.

Not much difference to my face but it blurs out my hair as well (camera probably sees it as skin colour).

Wow.. And I just noticed how well my Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown lenses match my hair xP

Yeah.. So there's my confession. I use a cheating camera & Photoshop. I have written about how I remove skin imperfections, pimples or stray hair & shine before so it shouldn't come as much of a shock if you've been following me for a while lol

Not gonna give you reasons on why it's okay to do this just to justify my actions. I admit it's all because I'm super vain, I like playing with Photoshop and I want to give my readers something nice to look at. Plus it's my blog and my photos! None of your business okay? Don't like, don't read.
