October Empties

Really helped with my hairfall problem! For once, a shampoo that actually does what it claims.

2. Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner
- Felt tip is a good size, waterproof, long lasting, doesn't smudge/flake, easy to control.
Quite good actually.. Worth purchasing =)
Review coming soon!

A good purchase ^_^ Will repurchase if I run out of lip balms I have or want to try (new products are coming in too fast though!).

* Pic from BubblezShoppe

4. Spa Ingredients Glutathione & Papaya Soap
This soap is more popular so it's always sold out. I actually stalked her page to see when this came back in stock so I could grab one lol I quite like it but I don't think it did much for my skin. I'm not dark but I wasn't fair to begin with so maybe I'm already at my 'original colour' and can't go any fairer?

Original price is RM 20 but it's only RM 9.90 now! Click HERE to buy.

Gosh.. So sad that I only finished 4 products this month =_=" And I gained 2 products from a giveaway I won too! Plus some other goodies (not sure if I'll reveal this good news lol).

Kanebo Blanchir Superior White Deep Clear Conditioner

I've been looking for a new brand of skincare as I suspect my skin has adapted to my Hada Labo routine. My skin is no longer sufficiently moisturized, leaving it dry, flaking and dull. Fine lines and clogged pores became more obvious as the days passed *cries* After trying samples here and there, Nicole introduced me to Kanebo. I have several products but let's start with this..

This clear conditioner is a lotion / Asian toner. In contrast with my Hada Labo lotion that I pat in, this is meant to be applied using a cotton pad. There's even a specific way of applying it.. Read more HERE.

It's actually quite nice if your cotton pad is saturated enough. My face feels fresh and moisturized already after this.

According to Nicole, this range aims to hydrate and brighten skin. Target age group is 18-25 years old. Just perfect..

WHITE DEEP CLEAR CONDITIONER(quasi drug)

Love the red colour of this range.. Looks so luxurious.. Even the mini size looks so good!

Sorry blur pic.. The recommended amount of 3 ml saturates about 90% of the cotton pad but I find it to be too much so I use max half of the cotton pad.

After the first few applications, I noticed using a cotton pad gets rid of my flaking skin (kinda like exfoliating) and subsequently, I no longer had flaking skin if I used this continuously. Dry skin is improving, fine lines are less obvious (because skin is more hydrated) and overall, my skin just feels better. I also notice my skin is brightened and smoother. I thought my complexion was clearing too but my skin is so unstable, I can't be sure =/

Size : 120 ml
Price : RM 100+ (not sure, do confirm at Kanebo counters)
Bought from : Kanebo counters (Nicole's at the one in Subang Parade)
Made in Japan

Pros : Removes flaking skin, moisturizing, brightening, leaves skin smoother & plumped, fine lines are less obvious, no perfume, refreshing
Cons : Requires a cotton pad

My conclusion : Loving Asian lotions over toners now.. ^_^ Should be purchasing the full size of this soon.

** I did not purchase the product with my own money. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

Clear Women Hairfall Defense Shampoo

Random : Pity all the people who get directed to THIS post while searching for 'pirate' for Halloween LOL

CLEARly (from the lack of photos in this post), I've forgotten to take photos before I finished the whole bottle and tossed it. My hair's been dropping at an alarming rate, especially after I had it dyed at M9 Saloon. I ran to the pharmacy and desperately grabbed a few hair fall products. The shampoo looks something like this..

I've never bothered to glance at Clear products before but I heard Nicole mentioning this product once so I decided to grab it. It claimed to reduce hair fall by up to 98%! Actually that's like a trick.. 1% is still included in 'up to 98%'. It's like putting a sign that says "Prices start FROM RM 5" then you see ONE RM 5 item which is a sock while everything else is RM 30-50. Hate that..

Before using this, every time I combed my fingers through my hair, I'll find at least 3 strands of hair. Go through it a few more times and I'll probably have about 15 strands? And then there's the ones on my bed, bathroom floor, room floor, clothes etc. Dam emo cos I don't wanna be bald (FML were the Yun Nam people right?). Don't even dare to scratch my head too hard cos I'm imagining my fingers scraping the hairs right out of my scalp x_X

After finishing 1 bottle, I'm very happy to say that... My hair is back to normal! Phew.. And no special hair treatment worth thousands of Ringgit involved. This shampoo seems to focus more on the scalp than hair though.. Looking at my dry mane, I'm not sure if I should repurchase this. At least now I know what to get if my hair starts giving me problems again ^_^

Bought from : Pharmacy

Pros : Solved my hair fall problem
Cons : Doesn't do much for hair

My conclusion : Definitely repurchasing this if I see my hair dropping uncontrollably again.

Tuesday at 1 Utama

Whee~~ Met with some of the Refa Angels on Tuesday..

This is the super skinny Evonne who has super big eyes lol

I'm so short and fat and yellow(?) compared to them! Joanne & Evonne are sisters, btw.

Beh tahan had to PS my squinty eyes cos I'm standing next to Evonne =/ Note to self : Wear falsies next time you see her.

Lunch at Pizza Milano~ Evonne's beef lasagna in a cute boat plate. She only finished half of this.. No wonder she's so thin!

Yup.. Number 19 again but I requested less spicy (so I can add Tabasco) & with extra seafood. Joanne said I'm so particular with my order. Then.. Nicole arrived and ordered hers with extra seafood, no calamari & more fish LOL

Ahh.. Perfect view of Chatime (coming soon) from there. Wonder how the competition's gonna be like between Chatime & Come Buy in 1 Utama.

Er.. Stocking up for war? Lol... I try to only buy masks during sales so.. =x

Watson's Moisturising Facial Mask - RM 24.50, 2nd @ RM 1 (wtf dam worth it lor! But only applicable for Cucumber & Aloe)
Watson's Energising Eye Mask - RM 19.90 (no discount but I'm running out)
Charles Worthington Hair Masque - RM 20+ (30% off)
Watson's Brightening Facial Mask - RM 5.90, 2nd @ RM 1 or something like that

Come Buy @ 1 Utama Buy1Free1 Promo

*Slight interruption before my post... I'm officially an AUNTY now! =x*

Anticipation to try Come Buy built up within me as I walked past it everyday when I was working in 1 Utama. Finally got to try it on Tuesday ^_^

Queue was quite long due to the Buy 1 Get 1 Free promo but they make the drinks so fast!

I'm boring with my choices so I stuck with Bubble Milk Tea =/ I prefer Chatime's tea-er taste but the pearls are ZOMG so awesome! The whole pearl is so chewy and yummy. Dunno how to describe but it feels fresh and not like it's been boiled then left there for hours before jumping into my mouth. The pudding (jelly) has quite a unique taste to it as well.. Really adds taste to the otherwise average milk tea.

* Grapefruit Green Tea label is in the middle cos I don't remember which is which =/ And my lychee is missing from the pic! =(
** Correction : Pudding Milk Tea is actually Grass Jelly Milk Tea

Promo is from 22nd Oct - 4th Nov only.. After that though.. You can use the 50 cent discount voucher which expires end of this year.

* Promo available from 1pm-5pm and 6pm-10pm only

Buy any of the drinks in the menu and get a free Grapefruit Green Tea / Coffee / Lychee Juice with Jelly.

Interested to try the Ultimate QQ Milk Tea & Sweet Rose Drink with Basil Seeds next! The basil seeds look dam cute in the cup..

Biotherm Skin.Ergetic Serum

It used to be all about reducing signs of aging. Now there's signs of fatigue as well (shit.. more problems to worry about!). The Biotherm Skin.Ergetic Serum aims to reduce signs of fatigue BEFORE they turn into signs of aging. Err.. Prevention is better than cure, right?

Product says :
Biotherm creates SkinErgetic, its 1st non-stop anti-fatigue moisturizing routine to reduce visible signs of fatigue so they don’t turn into signs of aging. To fight the most visible signs of fatigue, give your skin a new energy source - a powerful boost of moisture and radiance.
Results: Skin is smoother and plumped, features are refined and rested, and complexion is radiant and even.

Now.. I've only tried a sample of this so I did not experience the mixing of the active ingredients. Note : Product is effective for 3 months only after mixing.

When I tried the tester at the counter, I was immediately captivated by it's scent which is so fresh and green and vegetably. Reminds me of fresh salad, yogurt or something sweet. I guess that makes sense since there's broccoli extract in this serum. I also love the green bottle and the dropper.

The serum feels slimy but is light when applied. It doesn't leave my skin greasy/sticky and absorbs really fast, which is great cos I still have to apply moisturizer after serums. I normally use serums at night only but I wouldn't mind using this in the day time as well.

Apart from the super nice smell and some help with keeping my skin hydrated, I did not notice any difference. I still like it though as it moisturizes without making my skin oily.

Unfortunately, my skin developed red bumps after using this =( Gave it a second try and the bumps reappeared *sigh..* Perhaps I can finish the samples as hand cream so I can still smell it when I sleep lol
Ingredients :

Size : 50 ml
Price : RM 195
Sold at : Biotherm counters
Made in France

Pros : Smells great, hydrating, not greasy/sticky, absorbs fast
Cons : Lasts for 3 months only, gave me red bumps

My conclusion : Did not notice any improvements in my dull, tired skin. Red bumps prevent me from using it further to see if there's any results =( Even If I do get it, I might not finish it within 3 months and that'll be such a waste.. Will not purchase.

** Samples were obtained for free. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask

Got a small trial tube of this after reviewing their Micro Polish Cleanser. I gotta admit my heart's with sheet masks again after using MBD but I guess this deserves a try.

Product says :
A potent bio active peel mask designed to renew the complexion, reduce the appearance of fine lines and dramatically improve skin tone.

Results:
  • Removes dead skin cells to renew the complexion
  • Skin looks brighter, healthier, more radiant
  • Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Combats congestion, blackheads and blemishes
How to use:
Apply a generous amount onto clean skin over the face and neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10 minutes. Dampen enclosed cloth and gently wipe off mask. Rinse skin with warm water. Slight tingling may be experienced during application. Use weekly. Not recommended for sensitive skin or for use just after shaving.

Reading the reviews HERE, it seems I'm supposed to see results after even the first use..

The mask is gel like and it felt quite nice applying this on my face, especially cos I like the smell. Like the cleanser, it has an orangey smell and colour. It did prove to be a tad bit tedious to wash off. However, the new version now comes with a cloth to wipe off the mask before washing it off.

Removes dead skin cells - Flaking skin is gone..
Brighter, healthier & more radiant skin - Nope.. The cleanser showed this effect but not the mask
Fine lines and wrinkles - If there is to be any result, I wouldn't see it so fast
Congestion, blackheads and blemishes - No immediate effect but it seems to be doing that by drying out my skin.. =/

It did leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but I get the same results from almost any other mask I have..

Ingredients : Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Leaf Extract, Lecithin, Lactic Acid, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Passiflora Quadrangularis Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Alcohol Denat., Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Citral, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Tocopherol.

Size : 50 ml
Price : £30

Pros : Smells nice, removes flaking skin
Cons : Drying, no brightening effect as claimed, takes a bit of work to remove

My conclusion : Hard to give a conclusion after such a brief test but I don't think I'll be buying this because it seems to dry out my skin without giving much benefit. The cleanser is worth considering though.

** Product was provided by the company for free. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

Giant Cheese Nuggets

Okay the title probably sounds weird lol..

With the recent 'RM 3 lunch trend'.. I thought I'll blog about one of my newly discovered favourite snacks which is priced at just 99 cents for a bag (60 g). About half of the bag is filled with this cheesy goodness.

Actually my dad's the one who first bought this. There's several other variants like green pea, prawn cracker and pizza flavour.

At less than RM 1, I wasn't expecting much from this but I actually like this a lot! It's crunchy, cheesy and super yummy ^_^ Much better than Cheezels, IMO.

A packet of seaweeds or potato chips can easily cost RM 3 or more these days =( So glad I can still enjoy snacks without breaking the bank.

I guess the bad part is I'll be eating more junk food and I'll gain weight! =/

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

Been combating dry hair, dry skin and dry lips for as long as I can remember. Thankfully, one of them is easier to handle than the other 2. I've come across many lip balms and Burt's Bees popped up as one of the recommended ones.

If it's not already obvious enough, this lip balm contains beeswax. Glad I'm not allergic to it!

Just like all the other lip balms, if you turn it up too much, it won't go back down anymore. However, this one is hard & waxy so pushing it back won't squish it. The cap is really secure but I often have difficulty removing it, especially when my hands are covered in skincare.

It's minty cool when applied on lips, doesn't slide easily on lips (good to be applied under lipsticks) & is slightly sticky. Although it appears to be colourless, it has a tendency to make me look pale and sickly. Every time I wear this out, someone comments that I look pale/sick/my lips look purplish. Not flattering... It's also not very moisturizing, just leaves a waxy layer on my lips.

Ingredients : Beeswax, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, belianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, lanolin, tocopherol, rasmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean oil), canola oil.
Size : 0.15 oz / 4.25 g

Pros : Minty cool feeling, secure cap, smells minty, doesn't cause lipstick to slide
Cons : Waxy, not moisturizing enough, makes me look pale/sickly

My conclusion : Not repurchasing... Just trying to finish this tube (it's beside my computer so I'll see it and remember to use it).

** Product was a gift. However, this has not affected my thoughts on the product in any way.

Elf Brightening Eye Colour (Day 2 Night)

I'm bad at matching eyeshadows so I like palettes over single eyeshadows. Plus, it's easier to bring 1 palette out than several separate eyeshadows =/ There are about 7 of these Elf palettes in my drawer and this has become my utmost favourite among them since dark eyes are just my thing.

The Elf Brightening Eye Colours come with 4 shades, a sucky applicator (better use your fingers) and a mirror so small, it's unusable. IMO, 4 eyeshadow shades for RM 6.50 is just ridiculous!

The cream shade is the perfect highlighter shade for me. From the name, I suppose you could use this to transform a day look to a night look just by adding the dark gray.

Now.. For a measly RM 1+ per colour, the quality has gotta be really bad, right?
WRONG!

Okay.. Fine.. Without primer, it's chalky and the cream barely shows plus the purple isn't really purple but I'm sure you can afford their primer which is also RM 6.50.. When applied above a primer, it's smooth and pigmented yet easy to blend.

These are from my Refa roadshow job. I actually wore this for a few days and got numerous compliments ^_^

Paired with black eyeliner and lots of mascara~

It lasted all the way from 8 am til 10 pm. That's more than 12 hours! Definitely something I can wear to work and not worry about it fading. It's so tiny and portable too ^_^

Product says : Luxuriously smooth, corn silk formula provides eyes with a neutral base and an awakened brightness. The formula blends into skin for a long lasting, beautiful effect. Each quad is comprised of 4 coordinating shades that allow for both natural and dramatic looks. Mirror in compact included.
Ingredients : Talc, Mica, Zinc Stearate, Kaolin, Paraffinium Liquidu(Mineral Oil), Petrolatum, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, MethylParaben, Propylparaben, Iron Oxides (CI 77491 , CI 77492 , CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow No.5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No.40 Lake (CI 16035), Ultramarine Violet (CI 77077), Blue No.1 Lake (CI 42090)
Price : RM 6.50 / $ 1
Bought from : Elf
Made in China

Pros : Cheap, pigmented, smooth, long lasting, easy to blend, small
Cons : Bad brush, mirror too small, chalky without primer

My conclusion : Love love LOVE! I'm not a fan of black smokey eyes (because I've yet to master it lol) so this is a great alternative ^_^

Mocha Latte Expresso Cappuccino?

Right after my Refa roadshow job, I had an usher job. There was however, no ushering.. In fact, the thing I said most to the guest is "Mocha Latte Expresso Cappuccino?" as I had become... a coffee maker =/

I'm quite happy cos I finally made good use of the black skirt I got from Sungei Wang xD And the clincher too!

This is what my 15 minute makeup before 8 am looks like. Yes.. It's barely visible in the photo =/ I'm using Elf Brightening Eye Colour in Butternut cos it's a neutral palette and I can apply it with my fingers.

Cassandra, my partner in crime (sneaking cookies and apple juice into our tummies when no one is around lol).

Coffee makes me feel nauseous but it smells so good that I'm tempted to try it again =_=" Should I?

I've also 'leveled up' in the skill of eating while driving.. =/ Totally do not recommend doing this as I believe it's even more dangerous than being on the phone.

This may be my last job for now as I have other priorities to attend to aka BF & college.

Btw, more pics from Refa roadshow. Miss you all!

Can you spot me? Btw, that Japanese man behind me is actually really cute lol He took out a hanky and pretended to cry when he left xD

Cute Zhennie..

Tifanny <3

Sexy Stella. And NO I did not plan to wear that and walk around in 1 Utama. I forgot to bring clothes to change (had to return the uniform on the last day).

Cheryl & Stella~

Amber Chia was here twice

And Chui Ling (didn't know who this is but apparently she's famous)

At the end of the last day, a slideshow suddenly played and photos of a few of us appeared on the screen. The event organizers had sneakily organized a little birthday celebration for them as their birthdays fell on the event days. How sweet..!! So touching... All the birthday girls were in tears lol

I regret not starting freelancing earlier as now I know it's such a great opportunity to learn and meet new people ^_^
